RPI is a good brand, they're a sponsor here. That being said if you love the look and have to have carbon go for it, if you just want the look with less worry go with a plastic one instead. They seem to find everything they can to hit regardless of how careful you are. I'm on my third one by no fault of my own (plastic). also 120 bucks to 1200-1300... always hydrocarbon if you want somewhere in between (personally i think it looks cheap so id say all or nothing). Either way you can't go wrong with RPI, best of luck!

I bought a carbon fiber front splitter and a carbon fiber rear diffuser for my 12 Grand Sport and I loved the look but my luck my front splitter got cracked hitting a piece of tire going down the interstate. So I replaced it with a plastic splitter

I've had pretty terrible luck with them too... had one crack from barely tapping a ground hog last year, second one was a trailer hitch laying in the middle of the road. Knock on wood the current one is doing well but I fully anticipate having to replace it again at some point.

I buy mine from either Extreme Online Store or Ebay (which i think are the same ones just different branding) Edit: also just realized how pathetic it sounds knowing i have to keep buying them lol... nature of the beast i guess.

Really great info from you guys so far. I just cant say thanks enough to all of you. And I can see it happening to me as well. Install a new splitter and a year later hit a tire in the road!

Just be sure you order the right one, I accidentally ordered the base version when I needed the widebody version. Fortunately was able to sell it to a Z51 owner.
It takes the wear&tear of occasional scrapes well.

I've always been partial to APR. That's what I used on my 2008 Z06, and that's what I will most likely use on my Grand Sport. I just priced the front splitter (with reinforcement), side splitters and the rear spoiler, all carbon fiber. Close to $5K with shipping. Not cheap, but good quality.

i recently purchased a new c6zr1 front splitter, reinforcement, and c7 style side rockers from acs in abs plastic because i am going to have them painted the body color. once trial fitted, removed, and painted, they will be mounted on the car to get stripes painted on, my fathers day present from my son. then everything will be removed for the paint to cure and then they will be wrapped and put back on the car.
also bought a tall rear spoiler in fiberglass from c7 carbon, also to be painted. then the same scenario as the front splitter.
