Anyone on here using Continentals? I've heard good things about them in the past.

The nice thing about the Generals, also the Hankooks, you don't have to spend tons, to get lots

TireRack's road and track tests have decent reviews, just not the 'best' (although who's counting)

I’m very pleased with these tires. Excellent grip and ride. Road noise is very minimal!

i have a c6 z06, and the car came with the nitto invos on it. seems to me the car breaks them loose in a turn very easily. i guess thats the lateral grip portion of a tire. is it just me not being used to a 500hp car? not a whole lot of grip from a dig launch either what say you fellas?

Fyi, Michelin is known to have excellent Street tires, top of the line, however expensive.

Currently on my Mazda I have General G-Max AS-05 Ultra High Performance All Season Tires, which, according to TireRacks's independent testing, in class, is proven to be excellent.
just had the Genrral Gmax installed on my 22 Hyundai elantra hybrid (50mpg). Not because I felt I needed a performance tire to handle the 180hp but because it offers good wear and exceptional wet/dry handling. Prior to that I had the continental extreme contacts on my 16 Cadillac AWD twin turbo XTS. loved them. Michelin has some great options but are always out of my range at the time.

This was my train of thought, almost exactly. I don't particularly need straightline traction, but the handling...requires tires to match the B6 Bilsteins, that I shall be installing eventually. It certainly is a nice bonus they are excellent in grip..

Yes, I have read the continentals are very great. I hear they aren't quite as sharp as others, let's say Pirelli's, but their overall prowess is undoubted

My daughter put the Conti's on her M4 when she needed new tires and seemed to like them. I had the DWS's on my wife's BMW X6. The tires were good but got very noisy at between 5k and 10k miles to the point that we had to replace them because of the noise. Hopefully, the Plus' has fixed that problem.

Oh man that blows...don't know much about Conti noise, but I can see how may be distracting. Perhaps better than low traction..

As an aside though it's interesting that tires fall off with some time, you might believe that the carcass may hold, not here.

I've got TOYO Proxes Sport on my 2009 and I got to say they are great. I had it to the track and they handled well and for street driving they are quiet. No issues in the rain either.

I've been through 3 sets of UHP tires so far. I track the car 5-10 times a year. I've had Michelin PS4, Firestone Indy 500, and now on Conti Extreme Contact Sports. I've been quite happy with all of them. Here's my opinion for what it's worth.
  • The PS4s were great, but got noisier as they aged. On the track they were communicative and predictable and hung on for dear life but let you know when reaching at the limit.
  • The Indy 500s were excellent also. Quieter than the PS4s, but not quite the same grip. They were predictable too, but not quite as communicative as the PS4s. They hung on for dear life, then would let go with little notice. Response was as good though. Only cost 65% of the PS4s, so they are by far the best bang for the buck. I would have bought them again but availability was non-existent when I replaced them.
  • Just finished my first track event on the Continentals. Grip is perfectly linear. At the track they won't surprise you like the Indys. I *think* turn in feels a little bit slower, but I need more time with them. They are a slightly louder than the Indy 500s on the street, but quieter than the PS4s.
Hope that helps.

I went with the Continentals and I think they are great. The entire ride feels better than the old Goodyears that they replaced.

Continental extreme contacts. Night and day difference from Goodyear’s. They are not runflats but the ride quality and handling so much better.

Nitto Invos aren’t great for much, but less expensive than a lot of the other options.

Toyo Proxes R888R work pretty good for my approximate 600 HP.

Continental currently has a promotion of a $75 gift card if you buy 4.

If anyone in PA is ditching a nice pair of OE Goodyear F1 fronts for something better and wants to sell them, I’m your guy.

Have the same car. I use Continental Extreme Contact DWS06; great treadwear, quiet; had them on my last Corvette and they were excellent. Great ride quality. Strongly recommend.
