Default Rotten Egg Smell Now?

The wife and I took our new to us 2005 C6 to our condo and started noticing a sulfur / rotten egg smell when we'd stop for fuel, food, etc. It runs fine, just smells. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like a clogged catalytic converter

Wouldn't that cause performance issues? This is my first Vette and it seems to have plenty of power.

Thanks

Usually there will be other symptoms if it gets bad, but the smell is a common sign.

Years ago, I owned a Chevrolet Monte Carlo that suddenly developed a rotten egg smell. It was a symptom of an incorrect fuel/air mixture.

Shortly after we got our 08, we began noticing a strong odor. It was somewhere between rotten eggs and dirty socks. Maybe closer to the south end of a mule going north---my olfactory senses are not that fine tuned to differentiate. We tracked it down to a really gross cabin air filter. It looked like it could have been the original. .

Most likely mold in the A/C air inlet-filter . Get new filter and big spray bottle of Lysol. You need to shut off the A/C and let the blower run for a few minutes before shutting the car off. Mine smelled like fiberglass resin from that.
