Default Help Establishing Asking Price

Hello to all. I have a heavily modified C6 that I am considering selling. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to establish a fair market value and my asking price? Obviously I can't just go to KBB and get a accurate appraisal. I've looked at some of the FS ads in the forum and unfortunately, they are not providing me much clarity and getting an offer from Carmax is not going to work.
Thanks

Depending on the mileage on the performance mods, a good place to start is figure out the value of the car in unmodded condition, then add about half the total cost (parts and labor) of the mods, minus the stock parts you removed.

back in the day i used to use a similar equation. Value of the vehicle (good condition since it's modified its NOT perfect any longer) + 1/2 the MSRP of the parts but no labor.

That being said, modified cars have a much smaller audience, so while the value of the vehicle can be determined the way you're discussing, the pool of buyers is small and the warm weather season in the north is about over. So while car values are way up right now if you want to sell in a reasonable amount of time you will probably have to price it lower than the retail + 1/2.

Agreed. Is it a headers exhaust intake car, or is a 1600whp 40lbs of boost forged everything car. Or is it bone stock with all the chrome accessories one can buy. Three very different things to think about in value there.

Sir, wouldn't it serve your purpose better if you told us about the car, as you would within an ad, and let us help you decide?

Most mods will add little to the value of the car unless you find just the right person

I modified my car for me. I do not plan to sell it and the only way I would at this point is if something catastrophic happened where I needed to liquidate funds. If you're lucky you may get back half of what you spent in parts and zero back in any labour. I have found the best place to entice a prospective buyer is at a car show. Many attend looking for a car that's already done.
