Why does the LS2 oil change reset not work ?
I changed the oil and filter on my 2007 LS2 last week, and I went in to reset the oil life meter and it only resets to 99%, what happened to 100% ?
Thank you,
Thank you,

That happens when I reset mine as well. I've reset it after it showed 99% and I think it reset to 100%. Not positive on that however. 99% is close enough for me.

Not sure exactly which is which but I am pretty sure I read somewhere on this forum that having the car running or in accessory mode defines whether it sets at 99% or 100%. I could be off on the running or not part but it will reset at 100%. It probably says exactly how in the owners manual. Anyway, somebody here will know exactly what to do but fear not, there is nothing wrong and it will set to 100% if you choose to keep searching.

So following is the procedure from my 2013 manual:How to Reset the Engine Oil
Life System
Reset the system whenever the
engine oil is changed so that the
system can calculate the next
engine oil change. To reset the
system:
1. Press the TRIP button so the
OIL LIFE percentage is
displayed.
2. Press RESET and hold for
two seconds. OIL LIFE
REMAINING 100% will appear.
If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL
message comes back on when the
vehicle is started, the engine oil life
system has not reset. Repeat the
procedure.
Two possibilities here. maybe didn't press AND HOLD for two seconds or maybe you did the reset with the engine running (as previously stated) as the procedure mentions later about starting the vehicle. OR MAYBE THIS IS MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING! (or at least 1%)
Seems that the forum is suffering from some slow days recently.

Hay you might be on to something, My C5 always reset to 100% with the trip meter, but I tried it with the engine not running, I'll try it again with the engine running and see if that works ? Thank you,

Here's your workaround. Wait until the meter reads 98%, and reset it. If it goes back to 99%, then it's correct because you 'used' 1%. Because of the perversity of inanimate objects, it'll probably reset to 100% but you'd be no worse off than you are now. I'm guessing you're going to change the oil long before any of this matters.

My LS2 only reset to 99%. I didn't care because I'm not THAT OCD.

only 99%.
99.999999999% of all Corvette users change oil inside of 50% life anyhow...
(I never saw 100% on any of my six Corvettes...My Ridgeline though does show 100%

Following the procedure shown in the OM, mine resets to 99%, also. Just wait until your trip odometer resets itself after 2000 miles! That is a head-scratcher...
