Top Speed in Your C6 on non race course
Without incriminating yourself, what was the highest speed you've reached on a non race course or track? We'll all assume you took appropriate precautions and did this on an empty straight-a-way road in the middle of nowhere. State top speed, year of C6, and if any modifications...

Honestly I just seem to putt along but I have a buddy who tries to crack 100 every time he gets his out. The thrill of the game isn't worth the implications for me so I just cruise. Beside if I get on it my engine will self destruct.

Boring. You need to up the ante, like top speed in a blinding snow storm, or top speed in the dark on a mountain road wearing welder's goggles.

Burning Brakes
Years and years ago, I got to 190 in my stock 2006 Z06 according to the HUD. Now, in my GS, couldn't tell you. Maybe 110.

The day that I drove up from Miami to Central FL to drop off the car in my new house, a nice long, straight, empty part of the turnpike I hit about 165 before I let off the throttle.

152 mph in my base 2012 M7. I was on my way to the museum somewhere down south on a desolate highway. I would have just let it go as it was plenty stable and had a ton left in it but I did it when my GF was sleeping and she woke up in the middle of it and started freaking out. I do admit that was selfish and inconsiderate but I couldn't resist.

2007 base vert without any mods.
I had her going 130mph on the test drive!
Since then the fastest was 152mph, with the top down. It felt great!!

I accidentally went at least 148 the other day on the autobahn trying to chase a modded 911 turbo that I thought wanted to race, but blew by me with a 10-20mph head start. I had to make a lane switch and right after I did it I checked the HUD and saw 148 and shut her down. Right around top of 4th, would really like to top it out one day if I could find a safe place. In my c5 I went over 170 one time, multiple runs to 150+. I was younger then. Even though my c5 and c6 would likely be a drivers race in the 1/4 mile, the LS3 pulls so much harder on the big end. I was shocked when I saw my speed being 148 the other day, got up there really quick. On a side note people in south Florida never want to race, they like doing fly bys and not slowing down. I was literally waving down a ram TRX the other day to slow down and line up but all he kept doing was slow down, gun it, slow down, gun it. Stupid. So many exotic and fast cars down here but no one ever wants to run a fair race. When I was living in NJ pretty much anytime any performance car rolled up on me they would downshift and try to run. Too many ricers in Florida.
