Default Brakes Squealing - Need Advice

Hey all,
I need a little help here. I recently purchased a 2008 vert base and have noticed the brakes squealing. Obviously, the initial thought was squealer tab on pads, but this only had 4k miles......not since last brake service, but total. I have put more grease on the pads but it did not help much. Is this a known issue? What are the recommendations...new pads, new pads and rotors? If I need to switch out the pads, what are the best pads to make the brakes silent?

Any suggestions are welcomed!!!

Thanks!

Tony

High performance pads have tendency to squeal especially when cold. Your owner’s manual says this is normal. With the car having such low miles, you could go through the brake bedding procedure to see if that eliminates the squeal.

" I have put more grease on the pads"
Sure hope you didn't actually put grease on the pads.

Lot of people on this forum recommend Carbotech, AutoZone Duralast Gold brakes, Akebono Pro ACT.
I used Akebono Pro ACT on my previous 13 corvette with J55 brake package, eliminated squealing.
I am sure you will be happy with Carbotech.

I want to thank you guys for all the great detailed information. The Delco 17D8 pads have a CF letters of FF which I need to improve. With all the info that was passed on to me, with a little research I should be able to get better braking. Thanks again.
Ed
