Looking to put new wheels and tires on my 2006 Base Coupe. Going with non runflats this time around. Thinking about purchasing all new TPMS Sensors for the new wheels and just hold on to my factory 5 Spoke wheels and Runflat Tires intact with factory TPMS Sensors for awhile until I decide what I want to do with them. Is there any particular brand out there of TPMS Sensor to use that anyone would like to recommend? I see on Amazon there are many brands they carry. I am not in any hurry being I am still waiting on 2 new wheels to come in. I do have the 2 new rear wheels though that came in almost 2 weeks ago. I was just going to reuse the original TPMS Sensors and just stick new tire valves in the Stock rims to hold air in them in the mean time but thought even though all 4 Sensors work fine they are now 15 years old. Funny thing I am still using the original TPMS Sensors in my ‘99 C5 Coupe. They were still working fine last I checked but I don’t drive either of these cars much. To many Vehicles to drive in my small collection.

Stick with ACDelco or Schrader, who manufacture them for AC Delco.

You can get the Schrader 20076 from rock auto for less than a $100 delivered. I have them and no issues.

The C6 sensors are very sensitive to interference, and the car tends to do rather unfortunate things when it loses connection with a sensor while driving hard....suddenly slamming on the brake on the wheel which lost communication, for example.

As I said in another thread on this, I would get the correct AC Delco sensors and choose some other part to save money on.

Get the Schraders from Rock Auto. They're recommended by numerous shops and far less expensive than most others. Put them in mine and they're just fine. About $20 each, free delivery I believe. Only issue I had was Discount Tire couldn't get the car into re-learn mode which wasn't the sensors fault, had to take it to a dealer who did it for nothing. If your sensors are the originals absolutely replace them.

I'm wondering how much longer I can expect the batteries to last in my OEM 2008 C6 sensors. They are going on 13 years old now and still working.

Seems like the sensors last about 10 years, +/- a couple of years.

followed the advice on here and ordered a set of schraders from rockauto today

I wasn't aware of Rock Auto as a source of TPM sensors. I have two sets of original 2007 chrome wheels, one set for my summer tires and one set for winter. About five years ago I decided to replace my sensors before the 10 year clock ran out. I found a source of third party sensors that were much cheaper than my local Chevy dealer could offer.

This source is not a CF member so I cannot name them here. If you are interested in another source besides Rock Auto, PM me. I can point you to a web site that offers both brushed aluminum and black sensors for $109.80 and $119.80, respectively. These are 315 MHz third-party sensors guaranteed to work with any C6. I have two sets of four that have worked perfectly since 2016.

You should be able to program the sensors to the car before they get installed. Just label them so they get placed into the correct wheel. This derisks having them installed, the tires mounted and balanced only to discover that they can't be programmed or are DOA.

Bought another set of tires a year ago and decided that after 10 years it was time to replace the TPMS. Went with Schraders.

Sounds like a great idea to program them before they get mounted in the rim.

My sensors are just over 16 years old ink my 07, but it's time for new tires so I'll get new Schraders.

I have 3 sets of eBay sensors in 3 different vehicles with zero issues so far. At $25-$35 for a set of 4 I will just swap them out every 10 years at a time when I am installing new tires. The oldest set is currently 5.5 years old. I just look for a cheap price from a US source seller that has 99.5% plus rating and has sold multiple thousands of items. YMMV 🤷

Hey Louie I am glad to see you are still around. Always use to see you in the C2 Section of the forum. Spoke a few times. I still have my C2 and C3. I added 2 more since a C5 and C6 all Coupes. Believe it or not my '99 Coupe still has the same Tire Sensors in the wheels that came with the car. So far so good. The car has less the 38k miles on it and my C6 Coupe still has its originals in the factory Wheels. That car has only 14k miles on it. I am done collecting any more. I just purchased a new set of Chrome ZR1 wheels for it. They are mounted and balanced with new tires but I haven't put them on the car as of yet do to health problems at my age. I went with no name sensors someone tipped me off about here on the forum on Ebay that look like the GM Original OEM. I took a chance for around $40. Hopefully they work ok if I ever get to mount the wheels on the car and set them up for the car to find out.
