Removable hardtop C6
I’m new here so please bare with me. I purchased a C6 yesterday and came with only the plexiglass top. Lots of annoying creaks. What year tops will fit an ‘06 and what should I expect to pay for a good used one ? $ ?

Welcome to the forum. Any top from 05-13 will fit, but creaking is a common issue. There are some things you can do to maybe fix it. Here's a good video

I think any C6 year should fit, ive seen prices $500 / $1000 depending on condition. There are ways to quiet your top down with new bushings/ seals/ lube. Im sure others will chime in with more info.

C-6 tops come as body colored or the dark smoked clear. As an option when newly ordered there was an option of dual tops. As for creaking I thinking everyone goes through creaking and
popping from the tops is a pain owning one. There are a multitude of fixes you can research and try. I use dielectric grease.on the rubber seals and pins of the top which works for several
months for me. A search of this forum will provide you with many suggestions to try to resolve the issue.
My only other suggestion is don't join the flying roof club. When you fiddle with the roof panel stay focused till you have finished and don't stop till you re-latch the panel to its docking ports. New roof panels run around $1,200.00 unless you find someone trying to unload one or if it has micro cracks in the clear panel, scratches etc.

Go to the hardware store and buy the rubber O rings and install them on the front pins to the targa top. $3 and 5 minutes of your time will completely eliminate any pops or squeaks. After I did mine a couple months ago all those annoying noises are completely gone.

Here is what you need to buy and use on ALL of you weather stripping. Best stuff ever!! A little expensive but it works.
Next follow the advice about the small O-rings on the front pins! Together my targa has been quiet now for over a year and it used to drive me absolutely insane!! There are threads all over this forum about the creaking targa, I read them all. Use the search for the size of the O-rings.
the Krytox is for all your rubber
stripping and is simply amazing!!!
Lubricate the car side and the targa side rubber. I coated everything, door seals, rear deck seals - everything. It just works!!!
found the O-rings. Here you go

Also, check to make sure your pins on the top are tight. You have an 06, therefore your top has the older style front latches with rollers. There is a gap on each side of the roller, so they will move lateraly and cause noise. The fix for this is to wedge a 3/16" or 5/32" C clip on the side of the roller for each latch.
The other fix is to put heat shrink tubing over the pins to stop the metal to metal contact.

+1 for Krytox. You can just put a small dab on your finger tip and it'll surprise you how much it will cover. I bought it for the seals on my Mustang GT convertible and still have it - I now use it for the window seals on the Corvette. I think I've had my little tube for about 6 years now.

What's the part number on that Krytox grease? I'm seeing "GPL 202", "GPL203", through "GPL207" at a quick glance.

Just be aware that there was a problem with delamination of some of the earlier roofs, and there was a recall. Anecdotally some of the recalled roofs made their way back into the used market place rather than being destroyed, so caveat emptor.
These guys https://www.melrosecorvette.com/c6-corvette-roofs/ would be a good place to look for a refurbished Targa top.
