Gm and AC Delco are related. Doesn't GM own AC Delco? Also the C6 came with an AC Delco battery from the factory.

if there is a choice...the cheap chinese junk that'll fall apart in 3 months for $20, or the american made quality stuff that costs $60... sometimes call the vendor and they can help you decide...if there is a choice. C3 owners know all about these issues.

I understand your concern. But Cultrag is not to blame here. Cultrag is a Chevrolet dealership parts department online sales company. They order the part from GM just like every other dealership does. GM is responsible for using AC Delco parts.
By the way I have used many AC Delco parts on my 07 and have been happy with them all. The are made to OEM standards.

For what it's worth I inquired with a PM to Southern Car Parts about a part in stock or needs to be ordered and received a PM back in less than 48 hours. Part would need to ordered and would take 2-4 weeks. Better that they are up front on shipping time. That's not bad.

I’ve been in the Plumbing and HVAC industry for almost 50 years and it’s sad to say when I see brass IPS fittings of any type made in the USA I usually put them back for foreign made due to major quality issues. And that is a very sad situation.

Good luck. SCP is RPI and they’ll tell you one thing until you place your order, then they stop responding and you’re waiting quite awhile for it to show up.

Roger: You are out of line. The part that GM drop-shipped on Cultrag's behalf was their current inventory that happened to be made in China. As far as paying extra for expedited shipping, many vendors now have virtual inventory and the order is filled in due time by the manufacturer or a third-party. If I were a vendor that didn't actually ship the orders, I would not offer expedited shipping since it can easily be negated if the order is not shipped same-day. While the dealer stock may be made in the USA, obviously GM has changed suppliers and they are now made in China. I have gotten the same GM part with various countries of manufacture such as USA, Germany, Australia and China. Don't make such a big deal about made in USA - that period has been over for years. Take a look around your house and almost all of the mechanical systems are made in a foreign country.

Just the tip of the iceberg, most electrical items are faked. Lack of an imprinted logo on the body, uneven gaps from plug to plug and a cheap electrode: Those "8 X 41-110 for $20" you see are fakes... Check out this video:

if you line up the etchings on the hex piece facing up, all of the tips on the top will face the same way on authentic plugs. With fakes the tips will point in different directions with the hex etching face up.
real ones also have a Z or N on the bottom

I ordered from Cultrag a couple of times, then recently tried to buy something from Cultrag's sister site HGA Performance (just figured out they are both owned by Gene). Trying to buy on the website instead of ebay (to get local pickup and save some money) sent them off the handle and they blocked my phone number from calling them and me from buying from them on their site or ebay without ever explaining to me why they blocked me. Had to leave a negative google review (which I have since deleted) to get them to at least explain to me what they think I did wrong. They claimed that I violated ebay policy by trying to buy off from ebay on their website. I chatted with an ebay rep to confirm what I did was in no way a violation, which they agreed it was not. Pretty crappy way to treat a customer who was just trying to save a few bucks.

GM and AC Delco are the same thing. Many OEM parts are AC Delco as others have stated. If they sold you the parts claiming they are GM parts and you received AC Delco then they sent you the correct parts and it’s really not misleading.
although GM is an American company do understand that that are a multinational company and makes OEM parts all over the world. There is a good chance that there are Honda or Toyota’s made that have higher US part content then a Corvette. Unfortunately that’s just the world that we live in. I don’t believe GM even advertises US made percentages snd just states North America which can also include Canada and Mexico.

I was in the Auto Parts Business over 40 years now retired. Back in 1978 when I first started out you could still find plenty of parts made in the USA. As time went on more and more of the parts were coming from overseas. GM,Ford and Chrysler parts are no different. If the hood struts where advertised by the Vendor as being made in USA I believe you would have a leg to stand on. I did not see or read anything showing that to be the case. My guess they advertised them as GM Delco and you received GM Delco and found a imported product in the box. Many parts in your GM car were not made by GM whether you know it or not right from the get go, They source out from all over. I say keep the product you received being they are Delco that you ordered and install them in your car and let it go based on everything I read here. The Vendor is not at fault in this situation and if the Vendor was to give you permission to send them back it should be at your cost and your cost alone.
