Could have not said it better myself............. I have four cars I use/ play with/ tinker with, one I liked so much I bought a second one and keep it at a second home I only use 4 weeks out of the year. Why, Because we can. Haters will be haters.

For a lot of people, they focus on the quality of the time they spend on things, not the quantity. To your example of women, it's the equivalent of a woman who cooks every night, but burns it and it never tastes good, vs a woman who only cooks a meal every other week, but it's delicious and feels special and you enjoy it more. If you don't have any other option, you have to eat the crappy cooking every day. But if you have the option to pick up a pre-made meal for not nights, then you can just do that and only have the wife cook the good meals.
That's what having a second or 3rd or 4th car is like. You can drive the other car that does the boring stuff of life better, and only drive the vette when you can enjoy it. I pity people who have to drive their Vettes on boring highway miles and never get a chance to take their Vettes out on a proper road course and really use the car.

One reason could be where they live. If someone lives in the far north, and the car is stored 4-5 months of the year, that could make a difference, compared to some owner who live in Florida or Arizona. So, lets assume that the average driver, year around, puts 12,000 miles on their car every year. That's 1,000 miles each month. And most Corvettes are not daily drivers. And if the car is in storage for 4 months each year, that would be 8,000 miles each year. But not all corvette owners drive their vettes 1,000 miles every month. driving 6000 - 8000 in the Corvette each year for some doesn't sound unreasonable.

"Having a Corvette and not driving it a lot is like marrying a beautiful wife and not making love to her much". But if I could have 3 or 4 beautiful wives one would probably not get driven as much as the others.

Pathetic is also thinking that a corvette is a status symbol. It’s a dang Chevy......nothing more. My neighbor’s Escalade is worth more......but I don’t envy my neighbor’s wife or his Escalade. They are both his, and I have my own stuff.

Nah. This new generation believes they are entitled to whatever they want and when the can’t have it or can’t afford it.......they get pissed and start lashing out at others. Like I said earlier......it’s pathetic.

I am looking to buy a C6. Have no experience with vettes, drive a Nissan 370Z. I am old, have no plans to mod or race. Just want one for cool, comfort for long road trips, RELIABLE, etc. my budget is around $25k.
Are 2005 and 2006 less comfortable or prone to problems?
iAre 2009 -2013 similar and the best bargain would do?
I searched for C6 with low mileage for 500 miles from me. If you can see it, what would you recommend?
Thanks.

People getting too defensive, coming up with BS instead of seriously admitting they have a car that they did not buy for its drive ability and performance.
Me, I find the car fun to drive daily, feels good being admired at the stop sign, zig and zag, get to the speed limit faster than most and find the best roads near town for fun, taking it from my home in the Midwest to all parts of the country.

The (C7) is my 2nd new Corvette, in 45 years. It's very special to me. ❤
I l♡ve driving all my vehicles. The C7 I bought new adds to the ownership and driving variety. Each of my vehicles has a unique driving experience. The C7 is certainly unique!

Not that I give a **** about anyone else's opinion as to why I do or don't drive my car, I'll tell you why. 1. I live in SW Pa. and the car is stored from November to April or until the salt and crap on the winter roads has been washed away. 2. I live in a **** hole of a town that is tearing up every street in the city and outlying areas to replace the sewage systems to every house. This has been going on for almost 5 years now and the roads are nothing but holes, gravel, and uneven pavement and patches. And there's no way into or out of this town without going down into a valley and up over a mountain..........in every direction. 3. The car is low, so having these crappy roads to drive on is almost too much of a challenge to avoid wrecking the front end. 4. This is the last Corvette I plan on owning because I'm 74 now and the cash isn't there any more to buy another one. And I refuse to buy used. So when I drive it, I enjoy it, but I'm not going to rack up huge miles on it or abuse the tires. I'm just going to enjoy MY car the way I want to . And not answer to anyone else about it. It's a 2013 with 15,500 miles on it. Bought it brand new at near sticker price in 2012 and paid cash.
So here's to me enjoying MY Corvette for whatever years I have left on this earth or until I can't get in any more. Then she'll sit in the garage and I'll look at her out the window till I go to the old folks home. Cheers!
