TPMS, rubber or metal stem?
Ordered tires for my C6 base and asked sales rep about ordering Schrader TPMS myself. He said, fine, folks do that all the time. He suggested rubber stems as it would be easier to fill the tires. I think I can handle filling tires with no problem, I've done a few. My thoughts are the metal stems would look a whole lot better with my chrome rims.
Anyone see any advantage or disadvantage of either stem?

For the Vette I prefer metal. For my pickup, which I take offroad, I prefer rubber. It will flex instead of breaking if something hits it.

I just replaced all 4 TPMS on my 2006. I didn't specify metal or rubber and the tire shop installed rubber stems. I've always had metal stems and would have preferred the same, but it's really no big deal. I think tire shops like them because they are an easy install.. no o-rings or nuts to torque.
Just installed C7 Wheels... I had to replace all 4 original (2006) TPMS, So I found a set of new take-off Stingray wheels to replace the old painted 5 spokes.

There is a company named TPMS/24 7 that offers the choice of metal or rubber. Metal is $20.00 more and they send them with the rubber and Discount Tire has a little tool to change them out. I think I paid about $150.00 for everything. They are made by Schrader.

I never knew they even came in rubber. I'd stick with metal.

I am going through this now. But I would think on a black wheel do the rubber?

There is a speed rating difference with Rubber vs. Metal. Per Schrader TSB (Link Below) - their branded Rubber TPMS Valve Stem Speed Rating: 115 mph. Metal (Aluminum) TPMS Valve Stem Rating: 155 mph.
