Hello all,

First time poster, and first time Corvette owner. Just bought a 2006 Base C6 and am going to be modding it in the next few months and was looking for some reccomendations.

The mods I'm looking to do are as follows:
Air Intake
Cams
Long tube headers
Fuel Injectors
Fuel pump
Throttle Body

And then when all that is done I'll get a custom dyno tune done.

Does anyone have experience with these mods? Any brands in particular that you've had success with? I'm not looking to completely break the bank so I'd probably be looking at more mid range components. Smog/emissions are not an issue.

Have an unmolested 2006 base coupe for a lifetime. Flirted with mods, but enjoyed the car so much that I never pulled the trigger on mods, but many buddies did. My .02 - and worth every penny you paid for it.

The CAI is a waste of money. Cams are a lot of money for not that much return (on a $$/HP basis), long tube headers bring cats into the question (hassle), no need for a high volume FP unless you're really needing more fuel (what mods listed require more gals/hour gas?), and the throttle body by itself adds little.

Add all that up, and you'd save money on a $$/HP basis by going with surcharging. One time mod, kicks ***. More power per dollar and aggravation than everything you listed.

I decided to go rear wide body for wider rear wheels and tires to handle the A&A Supercharger I had installed.
I'm very pleased with the added power and like the rear wide body look.
The wider wheels and tires should handle the added power when I am able to get to the drags at Sonoma Raceway.

I bought an 09 Z51 M6 so I could mod it. My mods are in my signature line. I love them. Otherwise the car looks stock.

The only limiting factor is the size of your bank account. As many know here, there is no known cure for Mod Fever.

Get a Corsa Catback exhaust, a few painted items under the hood and you're good.

Don't waste any money on changing the fuel injectors or the fuel pump .... The stock parts will support more HP than you will be making unless you opt for a supercharger.

As others have told you ... Adding an aftermarket air intake will not get you hardly any additional HP. Certainly no 'bang for the buck' mod for the C6.

My suggestion would be to supercharge your LS2 if you really are not happy with the HP the stock LS2 is giving you.

If you are in California then you need to think about emissions so i would go with a roots blower to stay carb compliant. Longtubes with a catted X pipe and a veraram or callaway honker will be good additions to compliment the supercharger.

A&A is CARB compliant, and Procharger is CARB compliant with their 2005 kit.

That is true but there is a reason all the OEMs go with roots blowers. They will not give you max power numbers, but they are smooth and reliable.

Any blower can be reliable when properly installed.

That can be said for any power adder but the roots style is still the most popular choice from an OEM stand point.

That may not be an endorsement. It may just be the cheapest which is not intrinsically indicative of value.

here’s some info and data why some manufacturers use roots and it really has nothing to do with smooth and reliable nor are they better for sports cars but they are easier and cheaper to mass install.
