Default Thin GS Stripes

Hey guys,

I haven't been on here in a while and I'm currently in the market for another vette. I ran across this GS with really skinny stripes and was wondering if theres some story to these or was this just some persons preference? Here's a link to the car: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=277631696

Thanks

I really don't care for those stripes and would remove them if it was my car.

The window sticker shows it came with the GS Heritage Package, which would have included in this case silver hash stripes. They were to be installed by the dealer. For sure, the OEM stripes either weren't installed, or replaced by those thinner versions. While I'm a fan of the OEM hash marks in certain color combinations, CRM is an outstanding color on a GS. I'd remove the skinny stripes and enjoy the color.

Thanks guys, I was sure the Heritage package included the thick hashes but couldn't imagine why anyone would simply decide that the stripes needed to be thinner...my hope is that those are stickers and not paint. If its paint, its a non-starter; if its stickers, I might buy it and go looking for aluminum or chrome wheels.

May explain why owner/dealer opted for narrower stripes. It has to be the reason due to that extra inch of material! You've got to be kidding re: the price! Who in their right mind would pay this inflated price for "original" GM? I suppose someone, or they (stripes) wouldn't be on the market. A fool and his money.................!

My Inferno Orange 2012 3LT Grand Sport (A6) is lowered "On The Stock Bolts"

The Wheels (19x10.5 / 19x12.5) are SIGNATURE Forged SV701 Brushed/With CLEAR Powder Coat.
I also added the GM Racing Spoiler, ZR1 (repop) Splitter & ZR1 (repop) Skirts in Carbon Flash Paint

PM me with any questions or ask for advice

Those are close enough (IMO) for $79 as opposed to $450 for original GM. Most sites show "No Longer Available" for the OEM hash marks. The OEM have an outline color and the flags in the stripe.

Have a friend that now owns a 2010 GS Convertible that has the original OEM strips and according to the order / build docs provided by the original owner they are in fact over $400.. WOW..
The red set on his car definitely looks good against the Cyber Grey Metallic IMO.

when you remove those stripes just be careful not to remove any clearcoat and ruin your paint job

No, those aren't accurate lol....and I made him take those off before I left the driveway. He just did it to see what it would look like and if I would like them. The thickness would be about the same as factory, but they definitely aren't factory style. My car does look damn good in that pic, though.
