Default Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX head unit

I know the topic of aftermarket head units has been discussed many times, and many have their preferences for brand.

Anyone purchased the DMH-W4660NEX by chance?

For other that have installed a recent Pioneer, what did you use to retain steering wheel controls, did you have to buy an additional harness/component?

Thanks!

Also, anyone else seen alternatives for wireless Apple CarPlay with a capacitive touch screen in any other brands that liked what they got?

I was looking hard at that model but ended up getting the Kenwood DMX957XR.

How did you like the Kenwood? I put a Kenwood in about 6 years ago, upgrading again. Specific model I had wasn’t a fan of, Bluetooth was real spotty.

How do you like the features? Do you run steering wheel controls with it?

I just got it 2 days ago. Waiting on a couple other things to arrive and plan to install it next weekend. I did get the PAC interface and the wiring harness service from Crutchfield.

Sounds good, thanks for the reply! I think both of the models look solid. What made you go with the 957xr vs the 4660nex?

They are spec'd pretty similarly. I've had both kenwood and pioneer units in different vehicles in the past and prefer kenwood. The 957xr also has a higher resolution screen.
