Default New to C6 (hopefully)

After being Vetteless for a few years I think I want to get back in. Sold my last of 3 C5 convertibles in 2016 and I think I want to go C6 this time. I have to admit that I'm slightly turned off by the electric door handles but otherwise I have decided to go with hopefully an 08 or so not that I really need the 436 HP where I live but I think I want it. I have not posted much on here in a long time but looking forward to being back..

I have an 08 LS3 3LT and love it. But, if was to do it again I would go for an 09 or later, The 08 does not have Bluetooth and 09 and up does.

You can always upgrade the radio. I did in my 07 Z06. It has blue tooth and all the modern stuff and my iphone syncs right up with it. Buy it from Crutchfield with their wiring harness and it is an easy plug and play install. The electric door handles are not a problem at all. My Z has 540 whp and do you need that? Probably not but it is fun as he!!

Agreed that a radio update would fix my Bluetooth issue. But, my 08 has a HUD and really hate to lose it. Even though the Nav sucks it is still pretty cool to have your next turn on the HUD.

I learned something. Never knew the Nav was displayed on the HUD. Mine did not come with Nav. We have a 2007 car with Nav and the Nav nowadays is just so much better and constantly updated on my phone. Honestly I don't use the nav in the Vette much since it is not my DD.

Came out of an 05' manual into an 08' manual -- Not only do you get the LS3, but you also move into the T6060 trans that is much smoother shifting than the old T56.

I sold a C7 so I could buy a C6 and modify it. I found a great deal on a 09 3LT Manual and the LS3 engine was the preferred engine according to the three speed shops I spoke with while I was searching. So far, so good. It's more comfortable than my C7 and with the modifications is faster! Sounds much better too.

I agree with those who say to replace the head unit. I had a C5 before I bought the C7 and both sounded fine. I don't know what Chevrolet did with the C6 head unit but it is terrible and I'm replacing mine soon.

I think that you mean the difference between a LS2 and a LS3......basically 30hp with the engine plus other drive train "upgrades"

If you upgrade the radio you'll lose the nav on the HUD....at least I did on my 2010 3LT base. I went with a pioneer with two cameras and Apple play.

40 to 46 hp, which is a 10% jump. That's a pretty big number.

The LS2 6.0 delivers 400 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque.

The LS3 delivers 430 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque with the standard exhaust system, or 436 hp and 428 lb-ft with an optional dual-mode (NPP) exhaust.

Not sure what your price range is, but its worth the extra cost to consider a '12 or '13 model if you can do it in my opinion. Most, if not all, of the minor issues in the C6 have been fixed and the seats in the '12-'13 are much better.
