Default strange clamp

So I was under my 2008 changing the oil and as it was draining I notice the power steering hose is rather loose. Loose meaning it can bounce around, enough that the fins on the power steering cooler have been bent somewhat. It also can and did bounce around on the sub frame. Upon looking a bit more I see this clamp that is attached to the hose, but it is not secured. It's just hanging there letting the hose bounce around. It is in a very tight space and I just couldn't get my hand around it so I just secured the hose to the power steering cooler's mounting bracket that attaches to the sub frame with a zip tie. I mentioned this to a buddy with a 2009 and he checked his and sure enough it was undone as well. He has more patience and unbolted the power steering bracket to the sub frame and was then able to get his hands around the clamp to secure it closed.
I mention this so the next time your under there check the power steering hose. I could see a mark where it was hitting the sub frame.

I just dismantled my power steering, didn't see any clamp like this, can you take a pic of where it is on yours?

No picture since it is back on the ground. If you are under the car looking up in front of the sub frame the power steering cooler is behind the fans and in front of the sub frame. The two power steering hoses are under the cooler. The bottom hose had a form cover, for lack of a better description around it. The clamp was attached to the bottom hose in the location on the passenger side. it was just above the cooler's mounting bracket on the passenger side.
Maybe GM changed the clamp style after 2009.

It looks like GM went with this clamp in 2008. '07 and earlier had a different arrangement. Mine came off too, with the same result.

2008 and later -

2007 and earlier -

I recently replaced the power steering return hoses and ear clamps on my 2006 Z06 because it was leaking (only during winter storage). All ear clamps in that area are the same size. I first tried 17mm but they were just a bit too small to fit over the hose. Then I tried 18mm, and they were perfect.

My 2011 GS has that exact same clamp for securing the power steering hose to the rack. But it is pretty much garbage. I removed it because it comes loose so easily. I split a piece of rubber fuel line and placed it on an area of the metal part of the power steering hose and then used a couple of zip ties to secure the hose to the rack. Much more secure than GM's solution.
