Be careful using heat, if red hot this is a chance you will lose your aluminum material. (There one second and gone the next if using a torch.)

lots of good suggestions here, let it soak with penetrating oil, heat and impact (Tap the bolt with a hammer)
Usually gets about anything loose.

Even if all that fails, just drill it out, your mechanic friend (If he's got a proper 90 degree drill) should be able to make quick work of that.

All of the above. For me the method: let it soak with penetrating oil (Tap the bolt with a hammer), if not heat and impact , if not soak with penetrating oil (Tap the bolt with a hammer), EZ out, if not drill it out --> replace with nut and bolt, if not helicoil it.
