motor oil
My owners manual is 15 years old ! It lists Mobil 1 motor oil !! It says nothing about which Mobil 1 to use out of 4 or 5 choices ! I guess you didn't know this ! I can eliminate the high mileage oil. I think there has probably been advancements since 2005 ! Also I think everybody doesn't use Mobil 1 oil. I am new to Corvettes and looking for advise ! I think I read that all the Mobil 1 oils are Dexos approved ! So you see it is not as easy as you think !!!

There is 4 or 5 different Mobil 1 Oils ! I can eliminate the high mileage oil. I don't think everyone is using Mobil 1. All the Mobil 1's are Dexos !! Amsoil for example.

You just want regular Mobil 1 with no special designation. See the picture that was posted 5 minutes before you made this post. It's oil, not rocket science.

Or you can buy a "better" oil than regular Mobil 1 - Pennzoil Platinum - for the same price. The correct answer was the first one given - any oil that meets the specific callout in the owner's manual, which is most likely Dexos.

I have a strong preference for the Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic oils. That's one of the few true "full synthetic" oils. It's built up (synthesized) from short chain hydrocarbons in natural gas. Most "full synthetic" oils (including Mobile 1 today) are highly refined from crude oil, not truly "synthesized" from smaller hydrocarbon components.
I run the Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic in several LS powered cars/trucks I take care of, and that's what I ran in the C6 when our friend had that car. 5W30 is the correct weight. It's damn good motor oil.
Marketing fluff: https://www.pennzoil.com/en_us/produ...-platinum.html
