Dash Letter Pics - Domed
Mainly wanted to post a quality photo or two of these letters, bacause when I was shopping, none of the places that sell these things have any photos of them installed on a Vette for you to see what they look like.
I really really like the result with these - they are a genuine GM part. Domed means that they are not flat - they stand up from the surface, almost a semi-circle if viewed from the side. The color was perfect (torch red in this case).
Yes I know I didn't get a perfect installation, but when you use 3M adhesive primer first, you only get one chance to lay them down - they are set pretty much instantly so no real chance to adjust.
Just in case anyone wanted to see a pic. I've only had them on for 3 days, will have to update you if any problems. But wow, if you follow the instructions and use they set down really hard - definitely seem permanent to me.
I bought them from RPI Designs. Unfortunately had a very bad experience with that purchase, so I do not recommend them at all.
Instead, there are LOTS of other folks who sell the identical GM product - all for about $40 I believe.
Baseline - after cleaning the dash - looks pretty plain without color
Torch red - very good color match to the torch red console
Showing the 3-dimensional character of these letters.

Uh, no, they are an official GM licensed product but not made or sold by GM. No different than a company getting a license to make a Corvette hat or mug.

Looks great! I've been thinking about doing the same some day along with painting the instrument bezel rings to match. I have a '12 Centennial Edition GS with ebony interior w/ red stitching, is Torch Red or Victory Red the match? I was thinking Victory Red.

Funny story...One of my club friends had one of his domed letters which would not stay on. He didn't want to glue it to the dash so he used pancake syrup. Said it was sticky enough to hold the letter but would dissolve in hot water if he removed the letters.

This is mine, had the same problem with RPI, letters would not stick to the dash. Reorder from a different vendor, reclean the dash with alcohol & the 3M adhesive work fine. I also did the rear bumper.

either will look great with the sinister look of carbon flash metallic.
but definitely get letters that are labeled as domed, not just flat stick-ons. You'll be happy.
