Default Cargo area lights stay on

The cargo area lights are staying on when driving. They go out after I park the car. Is there a switch I dont know about, or a switch in the hatch mechanism? I changed them to LED, could that be the cause?

2010 owner's manual, page 4-15

Courtesy Lamps
When any door or the hatch/trunk lid is opened, the
interior lamps will go on unless it is bright outside.
You can also turn the courtesy lamps on and off by
pressing the instrument panel brightness ****.

Some LEDS will stay dimly lit when off. Are they bright even when driving or dim?

Or could be the switch in the hatch going bad

They are bright, and if the dash button were depressed all the interior lights would be on. only the cargo ones are on.

probably the first mistake. Super bright LED’s is a vendor and along with JWMotorsports and a few others on the forum have quality bulbs. You pay a little more but much better quality. As someone else said possibly the deck lid switch also.

. Agreed, but the cargo lights on mine are a “festoon) style bulb. One wire on each end.

The rigid loop ones I buy from ebay have never stayed lit. The cheapest ebay led lights will do that, and not last as long.
