First time getting pulled over in the Vette.

You got lucky. In all of the years I lived in Texas I never got a warning. Can't say the same about Arizona. Got stopped doing 90 in a 65 when I finally got an opening to pass a van doing less than the speed limit in the fast lane. Got a warning and a short lecture, but better than the alternative. 90 here could mean jail time and impound.

Safety Car
Haven’t owned one in 10 years, but bought myself a good radar detector when I bought my car. Just reminds me to not do anything stupid when PoPo is nearby

I have one, but he didn't get me with radar. He saw me stop and then take off. I can't believe I didn't see them .He laughed because he told me he asked his partner what that vette was doing, then he says oh that is what he is doing. I always run the radar detector, waze and google. But in this small town waze and google are never any help.

I need to get that. I have my incident on my dash cam, front and back, but I forgot the stick in the car. And yes traction sucks on street tires for 0-60. My car is putting 450whp down, and my tires are pretty old. When I first left this morning it would spin at almost any throttle, I guess they where to cold. Got a lot better as it warmed up, but still can not use all the power down low.

Are you a young guy? I know 15 years ago I got tickets every time I got pulled over. Now that I am over 45 they seem to let some things slide. I have been completely honest with them, today I told the deputy I had my gun in my waist band and he laughed and said as long as it stays there. I am pretty sure it has something to do with age .

Just remember to inform the officer that you are travelling, not driving, and the constitution guarantees your right to travel. I am led to understand the police like this sort of thing.
Let me know how that turns out.

Got pulled twice, no ticket....
1st time a friend that I worked with needed a ride home.Sean asked if the car was Fast. I took a newly opened section of I-73 in Randelman, when I got to the top of the ramp I punched it somewhere around 100 when I hit the highway. Still holding when I hit the crest of the road I saw a little flicker of light and hit the brakes. There was a state trooper with his lights out on the left shoulder, he pulled me. He asked why I was going so fast, I told him the Truth, after he ran my license he lectured me and let me go.
2nd time I was playing with an Audi A8 on I-85. Audi saw the cop and I didn't, he pulled me and asked where I was going in such a hurry. I told him that I did not want to be late for work. He ran my license and told me to have a nice day, slow it down. I asked, no ticket? He replied "If I gave everybody I pulled for speeding a ticket I'd be writing all day". I shook his hand and said thank you officer.

When I picked up my new Vette, I went to Best Buy and bought a radars detector. No tickets in ten years of “spirited” driving.

Years ago our Corvette Club traveled to Dayton Ohio for a speed event. On the way back on I-75....I was last in the group and was pulled over by the State Trooper. Hell...we were going the speed limit...what was the deal ????
It turned out he had a 73 Vette he wanted to sell...and thought he would give us the information on the car .
All said and done...a Club member ended up purchasing his car.

Over Labor Day weekend was coming home from a Wyoming visit with my brother. It was early on Labor Day and I90/I94 are pretty lonely. It's a six hour drive, so I was "in a hurry". I was pulled over east of Billings on I90 at 95 (limit is 80 in MT). I had just crested a hill (for which I slowed down) and he was in a dark SUV coming the other direction. My radar detector went off and I hit the brakes, but too late. He was a young state trooper, very professional. I handed him my license and CC license. He gave me the $70 ticket. Oh yeah, he asked my if I owned the car, to which I answered, "yes". Not sure what that question was about. For some reason, I seldom get warnings. I drive over 25,000 miles a year for work in a Ford Edge and if I had to drive the speed limit I would be dead by now having fallen asleep at the wheel and crashed from boredom. I get a ticket every four or five years, but I have good radar detectors and I PAY ATTENTION when I drive. I'm always very polite and cooperative with the officers, but they like to write me up anyway. Must have quotas in ND as they aren't very busy fighting crime.
