Default Had trouble with burned CDs - Now Good!

I finally had success when using the "ISO" file from "TheCorvetteMechanic.com".
I'm experienced with computing, but none of my 4 CD burns worked in my 2007 C6 Coupe. After searching, I found that TheCorvetteMechanic had the fix in an "ISO" file. An iso file will burn the CD to its own parameters, rather than us trying to set our own burn specifications. My Nero burn specs created discs that the Nav system didn't like. After getting the ISO file, I right clicked it and selected "burn to disk". Thankfully, the Nav system ran it and fixed the "no clock" problem.
For anyone having trouble with discs not running, this will likely work for you.

I do not have a way to burn a disc. I will gladly pay someone to do this for me. Please send me a PM and I will give you my address and send you payment. Thank you in advance.

You guys are having much better luck than me. I downloaded the file and uncompressed it which resulted in a 10.8MB KWI file. I burned the file on to a CD-R and it did not work. I also burned the file to a DVD+R and still no clock? I also tried burning with NERO software and Microsoft. Any advice?

You really don't give a lot of information about what you mean by 'it did not work'. Where there any error messages from the NAV system? Did you insert the disc you burned into the DVD slot and not the CD slot? I'll take a guess anyway, assuming that you burned both the DVD and CD using the same burner and did everything else correctly. Not all burners are created equally. If you have access to another computer system, try burning the file onto a CD there. Some folks have reported needing to try up to 3 different systems before they got a CD which worked in the NAV system.

A file is a file. I do not think that using a different computer will make a difference. I did load it in to the DVD slot and all it tells me is that it is not a map disc. I also made other disks using NERO and Windows but neither worked. I made another this morning and it is a CR-R 74. I can mount it and see that the KWI file is on it. Will try again today. Luckily, I do wear a wrist watch!

Having Trouble? Try This!
Download the "ISO" file from here:

https://www.thecorvettemechanic.com/...ighlight=clock
This will format your CD differently from the other "fix" file. That difference worked for me.
All you do is locate the "iso" file and right click or drag to the burner to install on the CD-R already in your burner.

A CD/DVD burner is $20 on Amazon. If you don't have one, take the above info to someone who does, like the neighbor's kids. 5 min an you'll have a CD.

Just because you burned the file successfully to a CD-R doesn't mean that the CD-R is guaranteed to work in any other machine. This has been proved time and time again. The quality of the CD-R that you use matters, and the brand and condition of the burner itself matters. I've even had cases where I've burned a CD in one of the burners in my PC, and it can't be read in the second CD / DVD player in the same PC. If you had the time to go through the main thread on this topic: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...isconnect.html then you would see instances of where the user needed to use another or even third machine to get a CD which the NAV system would read. So using a different computer made a difference in those cases. I'm not saying that this the problem you are having, I'm just saying that it is a problem that other folks have solved by using another system to burn the CD.

As a test I just tried it on my old XP PC. Worked easily and I had a burned disc in seconds.

Default Re: Clock disk

Just a FYI, I disconnected my battery to do the paddle shifter mod and the clock was still displayed when I hooked the battery back up.Looks like it's a one time software fix.

Fix worked as advertised and like a champ. Seven-year old battery gave out Saturday. After replacing the battery there was no clock display. Same deal as others. Thanks to the trailblazers who provided documentation and others their experiences, the clock display is back. You just can't beat this forum. NTHALP

worked perfectly for me on first try using the May iso release. Burned to Memorex CD-R on Windows 10, the car liked it fine. I was clockless for almost 4 hours lol
I just got done installing a Z51 oil cooler and swapped my battery with an Optima Red Top, I'd say now we're cooking but hopefully I won't see 300F oil temps at the track anymore.

I've been sitting on the sidelines, rather smugly I'll admit, as my clock has worked perfectly. Last night I looked over. No clock! Oh well, looks like time to burn a disc!!

Update: Done! That was easy!!!
