Default OEM Air Duct Hose clamp

I was installing a new air filter on my 2011 LS3, and when I attempted to tighten the hose clamp that secures the flexible duct to the throttle body, it snapped and broke.

I can't seem to find just that hose clamp for sale, and I don't want to spend $100 for a new duct (assuming that it's even available).

Does anyone see any harm in just replacing my broken GM 'special' hose clamp with a regular hose clamp? The OEM part has a couple of slots to ensure that the hose clamp is always aligned to a particular spot.

Thanks,
Steven

I would just use the hardware store variety. When you change to aftermarket intakes, you get some different type of clamp anyways. It shouldn't make a difference.

How much of a hurry are you to get the correct clamp? I have an OEM clamp, especially for that accordion.
PM me and I can give you more detail. A regular clamp will work as well.

You may want to try AEScorvette parts as they have the tube snorkel, so they have a few of those clamps as well.

Yes - the one that attaches the air duct to the throttle body. It's the one on the right in your picture.

I have a 2005 with the same problem. I went to my dealer who told me that the part is discontinued. I went to a local auto parts store and bought a regular hose clamp of the same size, $1.50. Works fine.

The clamp in the right of the picture looks like a regular clamp. Why are you guys having trouble? The one on the left is the different one.

Although the one on the right looks like a regular clamp, it's got cutouts that are similar to the one on the left. I've got OEM clamps on the way (thanks, Paul!).

Yes, I can use regular hose clamps on it - but I just wanted to see if there were OEM clamps available. This is what my kids describe as a 'first world problem' as they roll their eyes at me.

Although that was a picture of my car I never paid attention to that clamp.

Mine snapped on my 06. Would like an OEM clamp with the cut outs, but I can't find one on the entire internet. Ha. Are y'all just using a razor blade and cutting off the nipples/locator nubs and just using a regular hose clamp? You can't just simply put a regular hose clamp on it. Have to be some trimming.

Is there a workaround by using a different accordian rubber boot connector? I'm new to Corvette's and my searches haven't been very fruitful so far.

You dont need to do any trimming. it will squeeze it down enough. Went through this several years ago and have been using a hardware \auto parts store part with no issues and no trimming.

If you could find one big enough, wouldn't a double wire clamp fit around the nibs?

I was thinking the same thing. I saw them on a hose site. I think it would be better than smashing the nibs down with a regular clamp. I was looking at using a smooth coupler style to just replace the accordion one. I’ll probably trim them flush and use a regular clamp.

I am in need of a set of Air Duct Hose Clamps for my 2005 C6 Vette.
Have been searching the net for close to any hour...found nothing as of yet
Does anyone have an OEM part number at least?
