fuel cap
My cap will not tighten. Was there an issue with these caps. I have a 2013. I just called a dealer here and they said did not know of any problems. I read GM was replacing if the cap failed. Anybody? Thanks

<insert eye roll here> Just go buy another one, they cost a stagging $12. Fuel caps wear out and go bad on all cars at some point in their life.

The ratchet action is really weak, I've seen quite a few posts from people who have replaced them. There are supposed to be better aftermarket ones but I don't recall the brand. Since it's emissions related GM might replace it, not sure.

Gas cap IS covered under the 8 yr / 80,000 mile emissions warranty. Don't spend $ if you don't have to.

And even if it was covered, many would prefer to spend the $12 to have it in their mailbox in 24-48 hours and NOT have to waste time at a dealership. I'm sure some retiree will chime in that it's not a big deal to blow their time driving to and from the dealer, having to write it up with an advisor, waiting for a tech or manager to sign off, waiting for a cashier to complete the RO, etc. But I have better things to do with my time. Like screwing around on the internet and calling people's BS.

Is your gas cap fixed yet? You do realize if you had of ordered a new one from Amazon for $12 when you posted this it would be on your doorstep tomorrow... Just curious? What's your time worth?

Buty a Stant cap.
Or even if you don't, when you fill up, as soon as the threads engage PULL UP ON THE CAP WHEN TIGHTENING! Seems counter-intuitive but it works.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong.
I tighten the cap until the first click and then stop.
I have never tried to tighten it down to the point where it won't turn any further.
I've had to replace it once, got the DIC message. $12. 40K miles.
