Winter Rides?

Safety Car
Here in Montana, I drive my 2012 Ford F-250 long box, crew cab 4x4 pickup, while the Vette sits tucked neatly away, and covered in my shop for the winter. You failed to mention where you're from.

My wife has a 2016 Ford Edge AWD and I have a 2014 Mustang GT. I got it for an unbelievable price, so I could not resist. The pony is okay with Winter tires, and if we really need to go anywhere in bad winter weather, the Edge is our go to.

I am from Sterling Heights MI -- near Detroit. My winter ride is a Buick Verano Turbo 6 spd stick = unicorn. I'm considering getting rid of the Verano for a PL/PD car IE Grand Prix or Lesabre. Has to be a GM as I work for them. Just really surprised that the Verano is our highest car to insure in the family and it's a bit too nice for winter use / outside storage use.

Thought I'd add a photo of it.

Burning Brakes
My daily driver and winter car is a VW Jetta TDI diesel. 48 MPG and about 750 miles range on a tank of fuel. On winter tires from November to the end of March and is on its second set of winter tires.

What is all that white stuff? I almost forgot what it looked like!
When I lived in Upstate NY, I always had 4X4 vehicles, mostly Jeeps. Cherokee, Wrangler, and Chevy Silverado PU. None of them lasted much more than 4 years because of rust, and wouldn't pass the NY safety inspection. On 2 of the Jeeps, I lost the brakes twice. Good thing they were manual, I was able to drive them to the repair garage with the transmission and parking brake. The good old days.

It has been a bit warmer than normal this year. HOT usually only has 18 days of 110+ and we're already at day 22 with more expected in the 10 day forecast. The lack of a monsoon is the problem.
