Locked out!

The fob antenna for the rear hatch is 'aimed' out the back so it can sense a fob outside the car. On rare occasions a fob in the trunk has been close enough to the antenna that the hatch could still be opened.
Auto Lock (and the associated 3 beeps) only affects the two doors. Even with Auto Lock turned off you can still lock you keys/fob in the trunk.
With Auto Lock turned on, when you exit the car and close the door the fob antenna in the glove box 'searches' the front passenger area to make sure you haven't left your fob in the car. If you have left it in the car, you get the 3 beeps and the doors won't lock.
