That too. I wasn't going to say it and jinx myself though.

First, drive the Corvette. Second, 1,400 miles is a jaunt, not a road trip.

In April/May we did FL to CA to OR, back to CA and back to FL. Four weeks, 8,000 miles. Convertible so we pack four 10x10x20 soft side duffels. Fit in the trunk top down.

Enjoy your Corvette. That’s why you bought it.

Road Trips are the bomb.

Wow!!! Some owners are scared of a few rock chips, so they leave their C6 in the garage instead of enjoying it. There are many ways to protect the front end, so don't be afraid of a rock chip here and there. I've got over 100,000 miles, and 89K miles of those are road trips. I've never ever worried about:
1) Rock chips, 2) Flat tires, 3) road rash

No one ever looks close enough to my car to even see any rock chips, because instead of me sitting in a lawn chair at car shows, I sit behind the wheel doing road trips.
Do you see any rock chips?

Parked at a Holiday Inn during a road trip?

OP, it's your car, do as you wish. Save it for the next guy, or drive it to your next home instead of the BMW.

Sorry but I rent C7 ‘s Porsche’s and anything I don’t go and buy that week . I keep my car pristine and drive it when and where I like. If I’m going that far it is a rental and the money I spend is well worth keeping mine nice for when I drive it. So glad you put over 100 k on yours my C 5 had 185k on it before this one.

Don't be sorry about your opinion. it's your choice. Congrats on enjoying your C5, which I'm pretty sure you did with that mileage.

I do what makes me happy using my C6, and everyone is entitled to their opinion on what makes them happy doing whatever they want with their C6 or C7, and soon the C8.

I have yet to see anything posted one way or another from the originator of this thread, but ultimately, the choice is his to make.

Thanks for all the responses folks. Had an emergency and could not get back on this site sooner. Getting stranded by the BM is a concern - these babes do not provide warning. Miles, road rash and packing space on the Vette not an issue, my wife and I travel reasonably light.. Only issue is sticking to the speed limit! Thanks again.
