Cranks strong, but doesn’t start
C6, no mods, fuel pump and gauge senders recently replaced, battery less than 2 years old, tender on all the time, tank is full.
Any suggestions?

Had the flatbed truck come to take it to shop. Of course it started as usual. Truck followed me to shop. They scanned it, drove it, no problems found. Sent me on my way, no charge.
Kerry Car Care, good people.
There truly are gremlins in these cars, and the newer the model, the more there are.
One reason the only “mod” I’ve done is the small mud flaps I’ve installed, and seat covers.

"In honor of jpee"
there was a reason why it didn't start however. in addition to the above, I'd ck all the plug wires to see that they're anchored well on each plug. it's a start no pun intended.

UPDATE
Problem returned a couple weeks ago. Went away after twenty minutes or so.
Now a new problem. Went to my club, 25 minutes at 65mph. It sat for about an hour. When starting, it coughed and hiccuped, stepping on gas pedal, no reaction, then it died. Did this four or five times until it finally started and ran normally.
Any suggestions?
Taking in for an oil change next week and hopefully the mechanic finds the problem.

With the new problem, a code should have been set.

UPDATE:
mechanic scanned and found no codes, suggested throttle body service and replace plugs.
will do throttle body service and see if that helps.
car has 53,000 miles on it so plugs should be ok theoretically.

UPDATE
Spark plugs are fine.
Got “premium 2 part fuel system service., thorough cleaning of fuel system.”
Basically they added some injector cleaner in the fuel tank, then cleaned the throttle body with some high pressure chemical blown through the throttle body. At least that’s my understanding.
Hoping for the best.
Also got front and rear brakes replaced.
An expensive day.
As I burn through this tank of gas with the injector cleaner, I should see performance improvement.

Certainly can't hurt to have a clean throttle body, hope that helps.
Question: What scan tool did your mechanic use? Some codes are invisible to a generic code reader and can only be seen with a Tech 2, GM MDI, or a high end 3rd party tool like a Snap On scanner.

The shop is a large modern operation, 10-12 bays. The scanner looked pretty formidable.

Good, that's what you want to see - a big screen with lots of buttons and a guy who knows what he's doing
Stick with it, there is an answer. Curious to hear what you find out, I'm working on a car that shows similar symptoms on a very intermittent and unpredictable basis. Tough to track down.

Well, the worst happened yesterday. Car died in the middle of busy street. Cranked, but wouldn’t start. Two hours in hot sun waiting for a flatbed truck. Got to shop, fuel pump not working. Replacement coming Monday. Was replaced three years ago, so still under warranty from this shop.
if it lets me down one more time, I’m trading it in for a Toyota.
A really nice policeman stayed with me the entire time, then drove me to the shop because the tow driver couldn’t let me ride with him.
God bless him and all hard working law enforcement members.

Burning Brakes
This may be a long shot but had a very similar problem on my Tundra a week ago. Sometime it work crank up and run and other times it just crank over but wouldn't start.. Also a couple of time it would stop running while driving down the street. It turned out to be a bad breaker in the fuse box under the hood. There were two breakers, a primary and a secondary. It was designed to shut the fuel system on and off. May want to just check them and replace them. Good luck.

Thanks, I'll run that by the mechanic.
