I'm considering getting some of the Vette Lights Morimoto C7-Style Headlights but I'm having a difficult time deciding if I should get the black ones or have them painted to match the yellow color of my car. I thought I'd post a thread asking everyones opinion on which you like best, in an attempt to help sway my decision, or if should even get them at all. So what do you guys think ?

I would go with the black if you are planning on doing any other black accents on the car and yellow if not. Though I am sure it would look good in either case.

Not planning on doing any other black accents on my car, however unlike the one car in the picture, mine is a convertible with the black top.

My vote goes for the black ones. Would look good with black too.

As noted on the other post where the question is asked... IMHO, going with Black has two advantages. 1) It's neutral and dark -- which offsets (contrasts) just about any color -- and grill opening -- really nice 2) They don't have to open-up the units to paint and then re-seal. Point #2 is what finally pushed me to a black set in lieu of trying to find a vendor who took 2nd-hand OEMs apart... painted, and then resealed.

I haven't kept up with ALL the posts re: color-matching.. but I thought I read (somewhere) that opening-up the units to paint voided the manufacturer's warranty. (I could be wrong...)

I personally prefer them color matched, think the headlights blend in better and don't stick out like a sore thumb.

I vote black. I really don’t like the look of the color matched headlights. Which means I don’t like 90% of the headlights on these cars. Except for the black cars I guess.

Added benefit of not not painting them. If you ever want to sell them, you don’t have to find someone with a Yellow car to sell them to.

Definitely black. I love the way it looks on my JSB Z. Makes it look far more agressive. Would never go back to color matched headlights.
