C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
I've had 2 C5's and 2 C6's and the C6 is definitely quieter.

C6 for sure.

What you have here is a first world problem, the amount of noise I hear in my 12' is almost nothing, but I'm comparing it to a C3. Its really all relative, the C6 is an engineering marvel.

I had both and agree with the others that C6 is quieter, but I think the difference is slight. Tire condition is by far a bigger factor. A C5 with low mileage tires is clearly much quieter than a C6 with aged tires. So for example, if you were to compare a C6 with 12,000 mile tires to a C5 with 1200 mile tires, you would conclude that the C5 is way, way quieter. I’m just guessing here, but I’d guess the tire mileage offset is about 4 or 5 thousand miles. So for example, a C6 with 10,000 mile tires would be equal noise to a C5 with 5-6000 mile tires. On both cars, I usually bought tires with 3 or 4 mm of tread left rather than the minimum 2 mm, simply because the tire noise had gotten so obnoxious that I couldn’t stand it anymore.

I can't help with the C5 vs C6 as I have not owned a C5, but I currently own a C6 vert & it is definitely quieter than the C6 coupe that I had
