Check your Nuts......& Links
Rear axle nuts that is, and sway bar links. I had replaced my rear axle nuts about 18 months ago after reading on here about problems with them coming loose. Well either I didn't use the correct torque or I used the wrong locktite the first time. I was getting a lot of "clicking" noise when I would start from a dead stop in 1st and reverse. It was getting to the point I thought something might be loose in the clutch or drive line. I decided to replace the nuts again and this time I torqued to 160 ft lbs and used the correct locktite and used the old nuts as jam nuts. The passenger side came off way to easy so I know it had backed off some. I couldn't believe the difference that made, instantly the "clicking" was gone. That got me thinking about changing the sway bar links, I got the Moog greasable ones from Rockauto. That quieted things down even more when going over rough spots on the road. It is almost like I have a new vette and my Goodyear runflats are just about worn out, I know it will ride better with new shoes and I am not going back with runflats.
If you are having noises from the rear, check the torque on the rear axle nuts. It cost about $6.50 to replace them, wow am I pleased with the results!

AND, how did you maybe not use the correct torque? What torque did you first use?

Yep - time of year for checks like this. My right rear side was loose but I could only torque mine to 150 because my wrench tops out at that figure.
Time for a new torque wrench and nuts. I'll check my front bar bushings too as I've noticed an occasional odd sound coming from the front when I
go over bumps. 65,000 care free miles so far on my '08 museum delivery car!
So far the response to this post sure has a lot of sarcasm. Really bright folks, I suppose. Anyway, thanks for the reminder!

No worries, rear axle nuts can be accessed by removing the center caps no need to pull the wheel. Stabilizer links just connect the front and rear bars to the cradle at each corner. Lots of folks complain of noise due to loose rear axle nuts. My car has 51k on the clock and the old links were floppy when I removed them. Went for a long cruise today, rides and sounds like a whole new vette!

Was hearing the “click” noise. Checked axle nuts. Drivers side was tight but passenger side was loose. Retorqued to 125 lb-ft. Have to keep an eye on it.
