Tired of dash reflection on windshield...

For me at least, I have never liked shiny vinyl dashboards. I love the way dash vinyl looks when the car is new, low gloss. I would like a product that did not add any gloss to the vinyl while still protecting the material from drying and cracking over time. That would be nice.

I have had bad reflection of the dasboard on the inside windshield and I will tell you that it can effect your vision enough to cause a wreck. It is a big deal if it effects your driving........I just changed to POLARIZED lens on my sunglasses and problem solved. No fuss, No muss......

Has anyone seen any YouTube vids on this being installed? Or, detailed instructions on the same? I'm curious at how big of a project this would be in install. I saw one of these on Ebay for the price listed here. The description said it was a combination of suede and leather.

Old thread with a lot of useless posts for sure. But the best answer so far is POLARIZED sunglasses. Not sure how those claiming they don't see glare actually don't see it as it's physics at work and it exists. Perhaps their dash is coated with some anti-reflective compound or maybe the inside of their windshields are coated with a film of some sort or they are somehow wearing polarized contact lenses!
But the only thing that ever worked for me was polarized sunglasses which did what they were supposed to do - reduce glare. Worked great. Unfortunately they made it difficult to see the AC head unit and the radio head unit as those LCD panels have polarized screens and, if not rotated at the right angle for the polarized sunglasses, they will be "cancelled out" to some degree making them difficult or impossible to see.

The times I forget my sunglasses I dealt with this. It's pretty bad! Like many others have said, polarized sunglasses is the answer. Unless you want some awful looking cover on your dash. Or only drive at night

I purchased a nice pair of polarized Ray-Bans, like 5x to 6x more expensive than any other sunglasses I have ever bought, and wile they are better they still don't eliminate the dash glare. They are better in that they aren't as dark and I'm able to read the dash instruments without removing them. I have never driven/owned another car that had so much dash glare! I bought a dash mat but don't like the looks or fit of it. Have also tried Sonax, was little to no help.
