Default C6. Has anyone moved paddle shifterto the stalk.

Like the title says, I'd like to "paddle shift" without moving my hand off of the stalk. I hate groping for the paddles on a curve.
Doesn't seem like it should be that hard to design.

I've considered the same thing & wondered if that would be a better design. I've had my car long enough now that I've learned to anticipate the shifting in a sharp curve. It was tricky at first. But I'm comfortable with it now. Still I wonder if having them on the column rather than the wheel would be a better solution.

BTW, I use my paddle shifters a lot

Here’s a dumb question. Is the “stalk” the same thing as the steering wheel? I’m confused? I like the position of the paddles on the steering wheel on my ‘12 GS.

Most of the times when the term "Stalks" is used, it's in relation to the signal or wiper arms. Can you give us your definition of "Stalk". I off hand can't think of a better place to put the paddles than where they are at now. With a little practice they aren't that hard to use....esp. when you consider the difference in hunting for the paddles compared to having to take your hands off the wheel to search for a stick in the console.....

Good answer. That's what I meant by anticipation.

The age old debate of where paddles should be... on the wheel or on the column.

Personally, I see both sides, and think you learn how to adapt quickly. And as other have mentioned, you shouldn' be shifting while turning around a corner anyways.

I've not seen anyone who has moved the paddles to the column.

I put bigger paddles on mine, and I tracked it, they work great. Also rewired to make it shift properly.
I would not move to the column.

This is what I would do first. Get some really long ones which would keep them easier to find when turning the wheel. Would be less complicated to start here than to completely rewire and move the location.

However, I believe there is a thread where someone moved the shift to a button on the console next to the shift lever. I'll look for it and see if I can find it:

EDIT: Here it is. It might give you clues on how to do some of the work you are looking to do: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-shifting.html

Default Paddles, one is up, other is down.

Someone rewired the steering wheel so one side shifts up, the other shifts down. It no longer has the buttons on the inside part of the wheel for shifting.
Look in the tech. section.
