I come out of the Harley world where we ride the hell out of our bikes. The money we put in these can easily hit $50K or more and we ride in all kinds of weather, including rain.
Skip to the world of Corvettes and it's like another planet. Seems that to many, they are more like "look at what I have in the garage". People buy them, put crazy assed amounts of money into them with add on's and then don't drive the damn things. A thread here had comments indicating 6k a year in miles over a 3 year period was too many miles!
WTF?
I think some here need to adopt a saying we have in the HD world...
Ride it like you stole it.....
I know damn well there are here those that do exactly that.
we also have a saying for those who own pretty bikes and don't ride them...we call them trailer queens.
Let the flaming begin!

Every few months threads like this pop up and it's the same thing over and over. The REAL Corvette owners, the self-appointed Gatekeepers of Corvette Thought Crimes ridicule those who have different lifestyles than they do. Sorry, I'm not going to apologize for my lifestyle.
There's another group of people here who live in the south, and make snide, arrogant comments about people who live in the north.
It's all really quite juvenile. I've never run into people like this in my life, til I came here at CF at age 63. I guess all of them in the country are here, because I don't know anybody else like that outside of this forum.

Not trying to change the culture because I don't think you are anything representative of most Corvette owners. Asking why you buy something and don't drive it. Your response is to get pissed.

Each to his own.
We drive our vettes the way we enjoy them, and not lecture others on how they should drive theirs.
I was gonna use my vette this afternoon, but I see a cloud so I'll just stay home .

Come on Gary. Why so bitter? Some people drive their Vettes, others just post about them. Just an observation. It is a Chevy. A nice one, but just a Chevy. If you want it on a pedestal do so,.If someone wants to drive the crap out of it that's cool too.

Mine is an "extra " car so this is why it sits
Not afraid to drive it just drive one of my company cars on daily basis and then for personal use drive my dodge truck. Wife drives a Tahoe and this is just what we take when we go out and stuff
Funny note, wife NEVER drives my C6 but last Saturday I was at my office and was winding up around 6 when she came pulling up in it
Said she decided she wanted to drive it, she has driven it a few times when we have been out and I have had a couple drinks but only couple times by herself.
She did fuss at me about it being dirty, have not had time to detail it lately.

I have Harleys and Vettes. I am afraid of "melting" with either vehicle in the rain.
I come from the car show side of ownership, so my stuff gets cleaned more than driven. I take great pride in how they look and enjoy the compliments from others.
Do I drive them, Yes, when it is nice and I can "enjoy" the experience, not just drive them to drive them.
Everyone has their way of enjoying what we have, but like religion and politics, to each their own.... Just realize I have the correct view...
