Default Show me your backup cameras

First, yes I’ve searched I picked up a Pioneer head unit dirt cheap that has multiple inputs for cameras and whatever else. I just purchased the pac wiring harness & face plate/install kit. Figured I’d add a backup camera while I’m at it. Looking for something fairly stealth back there so let’s see your camera installs. Thanks!

I installed a factory C7 camera, it fits perfectly into the key slot with no cutting needed and it looks factory.

It’s not the best picture. I’ll go take a closeup if needed. The camera is just above and to the left of the “T” in TEXAS. The previous owner did the install. It’s not too discreet but I guess it doesn’t really look too bad either.

Liked mine up from Amazon; easy to install, fairly cheap and provides a better quality view the cameras that came installed on my 2013 Camaro or Wife's 2014 Traverse

My car has a Kenwood stereo in it. Again, installed by the previous owner. I don’t know if Kenwood makes a backup camera or not. If so, that’s probably what I have.

My Pioneer head unit (AVH-4200NEX) came with the Pioneer ND-BC8 backup camera. Works great and has adjustable guide lines.

I think it's pretty discreet. It would've taken me more time to find it if you didn't mention where it was. I don't think it looks bad at all.

I bought the camera and monitor from Crutchfield. Works very well.

Thanks! I guess pointing it out does make it a little more obvious. I know this for sure, I use it every time I back out of the garage. (In addition to the sideview mirrors of course)

Default Paint matching was the key to a low profile camera

See picture for my variant.
Primed and painted prior to install.

Great idea. I’ve got some factory paint, may do that as well. Thanks!

What happens if you need to use the key slot?

I would remove 1 tail light and the key mechanism is right there, I've never had to use the key but if I do it's only 1 screw away.

Thanks for all the suggestions and pics. I went with the Crime Stoppers SV 6819 that arrived today & I'll install it this weekend along with my pioneer head unit.

Default C7 camera on a c6.

Nice job on the camera zeee 06. I was looking for someone who tried this. The hole for the key looked perfect for the c7 camera. I not a fan of drilling holes in my cars. Didn’t want to mount a camera like that. Especially my vette. I’m running a Pioneer AVIC 8200NEX head unit. My question is. How is the picture quality and angle of the camera? Thank you for the photos.

For the camera, connect the power and ground to the passenger-side reverse lamp wiring. Reach in from the exhaust side to twist out the bulb socket, pop the wire routing clip out for more length, remove a few screws from the under body panel behind the rear tire and pull the socket through so there is room to work on it. Drill a hole behind the inner brake light, feed the wire through and seal with silicone (or a grommet). Remember to run the RCA wire up through the center console before snapping that back in place.

My backup camera is my big ugly face when i turn to look behind me. Don't think you want a pic of that.

I am installing a dash cam that includes a rear camera. Many of these also function as a backup camera but the screen on my model is too small to function well for that.
