I bought my 05 4 years ago this month. 59k miles on it when I bought it and now has 70,7xx. I had a very minor transmission fluid leak fixed. It was only a drop every three weeks. Also replaced the a/c compressor that was making noise. Both of these repairs were paid by the warranty I bought. The fluid leak repair cost a lot more than the cost of the warranty because it required the transmission to be removed three times before the leak was stopped. The warranty paid all three times without any hassle.

I haven't had any other problems with it.

Got it from socalgarageworks. They were only making 06 and up but I asked if they would make an 05 and they agreed. Now they have it available on their web site.

I have had an 05 for about a year and a half now and have put about 10000 miles on it. I did have the column lock problem with it so I would recommend that you get the column lock eliminator and put that on it's less than 100 bucks and plugs in behind the instrument panel. Not a big deal to put in just make sure you get the one for 05 manual it only fits this one year. Other than that I would just change all the fluids and do the Ranger Method several times on clutch fluid until it stays clean (that needs to be done on all hydraulic Clutchs).
If you wait til the column lock problem pops up it will say Service Steering Column Lock on the dash and the car will not start. This is the reason I say be proactive on that one.
Make sure you put it in reverse when you park it or battery will drain.
The 05 is a fine car and I have enjoyed mine and I think you will to.

HI

Got a C6 2005 BVA4

and I'm in France :p

Got a random failure with defaut U2100,( saw on my ODB phone program for free... can be lots of things...
got any idea to check and how to check ?
and with this got also got some gauge which are going to 0 as if I was not driving, also cut A/C only got battery still on 13... others are going up and down all 3 or just 2 .... last time I also got like if the ABS was régulating all 4 wheels together.....
And by the way BVA stay in 3rd

After a small erase can keep 50 miles or 500 miles with no default....try to change ABS sensor, Battery, Alternator still come back... *

BUT, the minute you start to drive, it will chime at you like crazy in a Vert

Again, not a 2005 problem, but an entire generation (actually multi-generation) problem.

My 05 very has been very good since I bought it new. The big issue I had was the torque tube bearings went bad which cost upwards of $2,000. Three sun visor mirror lids have failed due to the sun and terrible design which effects all years.

There have been a handful of small recalls that you confirm were done. 😏

Other than having to put it in Reverse to park it, the column lock is the only thing you need to fix asap as long as you dont race.

I just checked Ebay and there are over a dozen ECMs for the 2005 Corvette listed for sale..(Both used and rebuilt) Also there are other cars that use the same ECM as the 2005 according to cross reference lists...

I have been on this forum almost as long as you, how many examples of blown up 05 differentials have you ever read about happening to people on this forum? . Also , how many people with 2005 Corvettes do you personally know that have blown up a 2005 differential, because I don't know one person personally that has had a problem.. I'm not saying it's never happened, but mostly everyone just repeats storys they have heard about people blowing their differentials without ever seeing it themselves.... ..WW
Actually.... I can hardly keep them on the shelf lately. I typically get 3 calls a week and they are impossible to find.

Most of the ones on e-bay are labeled incorrectly and won't work. Also there are a good few ecms that "LOOK LIKE"

the 05 C6 ECM, but again...won't work.... Go ahead...Ask me how I figured that out....

If you need them, please continue to call me.... lately there's a 2 to 3 week wait list but I always come up with them.

GM still has these ECM's listed, part number 19210071, for the 05. Cultrag's price is $313 and GM parts direct's price is $270. I think I would rather buy a new ECM than take a chance on a used one on EBay.
