Hi.
I have been using a C-TEK since 2008, and highly recommend it.
Check out this site, Listen to what Jay Leno has to say:

I am still on my original '08 battery. I also use my C-TEK on my other vehicles, and I seem to get longer overall battery life by C-TEKing them prior to starting when the vehicles have been sitting around for a while.
I only use the lowest setting for my C6.
GM offers the C-TEK as an option on the C7's. You can't go wrong with a C-TEK. There are others that may be as good - do your research.
I have no affiliation with C-TEK - just 9 years of experience on 4 different vehicles.
Hope this helps,

I have had two Battery Tender Jr's for years. Cheap and work really well. Still on my OEM battery (2011)

My comments were aimed at conventional lead-acid batteries.
To know if the Red Top batteries will be charged by the Deltran charger (which will charge AGM batteries), disconnect the Red Top and let sit for 24 hours. Use a good DVM and measure the battery voltage. If it is less than what Deltran uses as a float voltage, it will work and it will cover any load the car's electronics place on the system with the engine turned off.

I just bought a battery tender jr for my honda. I have been using a 10yr old Sears 1.5A tender on the vette. It hasn’t skipped a beat. I plug em in till spring.

I have had a Battery Tender Plus and a Ctek 3300 for years. They both work fine, but I believe the Ctek works a little better than the Battery Tender.

Motorcycles use AGM's, that was why I acquired my Deltran, and I had no trouble with it and have used it to keep the Corvette battery charged, going on 6 years now.
So even with a float set at 13.08, the Deltran will keep a 13 volt battery charged, it will also supply enough current for the parasitic voltages from the computer that never shuts off, and will use very little water doing so because it is so close to the battery's natural voltage.
Does that aid your understanding?

I have several $5 chargers from Harbor Freight.
keep 'em on the motorcycles. Never use one on the 'vette since it's DD unless the weather is bad. I know most here would never use a cheap charger on their 'vettes 'cause it just sounds wrong.

Eight years ago I bought a Deltran Battery Tender, Jr. to use on my cycle. I would use it on my wife's old Lexus when we would be out of town for a couple of weeks. It worked well in both applications.
A couple of years later I bought a used C5. I thought the Corvette deserved a better tender so I spent the extra $$ and bought a CTEK 3300. It also worked fine for about three years before boiling the acid out of the battery. Being sure this "quality" tender couldn't be the problem, I replaced what I thought was a good 2 year old battery and guess what? New battery boiled by the CTEK with acid all over the place.
What does this mean? You don't always get what you pay for. I now have two Battery Tender, Jrs. OBD

There are several workable options no question. I bought the GM Corvette maintainer that comes with the "Battery Protection" option. Not the cheapest option but it has a nice look to it with the Corvette logo and it is OEM for the car. Works great!
