I've always considered getting 5 years out of a battery doing good, I've always bought a new one after 5 years no matter if I've had issues with the battery or not, it's just not worth risking having a dead battery in the middle of winter in Montana when it's -30 degs F outside. Not that I'd be driving my Corvette when it's that cold.

I would replace it if it were me. Bought my 13 GS new in Jan of 13. Garage kept, always on a tender when not driving it. I was going to take a trip down south with it in May of this year and after reading of a lot of battery failures decided to replace it before I left. The car had 17,200 miles on it and was 4 years and 4 months old. It never failed to start or gave me any trouble, just having a new battery when that far away from home gave me piece of mind. I will probably replace it again in 4-5 years no matter what. To me, trying to stretch the life of a battery, tires or any other normal maintenance item is just not worth the aggravation (or safety) it might cause.

Mine is showing no problems. Whenever I go out, especially on a road trip, I take with me a fully charged jump starter. Its small enough to fit in the glove box. I haven't needed to use it yet.

Yes......battery life depends on a lot of variables IE: Climate, usage, etc. I agree that living in AZ the "average battery life due to the summer heat is between 18 and 30 months "on average. AutoZone has the best warranty of anyone. One exception in my case, my 94 R/T-10 Viper had the same battery when the car was wrecked in 2004....incredible in the AZ heat.
