Some folks just can't help it. Someone once put up a topic, just to see how long it took to get "off topic", how far it went off topic, and how personal....Didn't take LONG ... Was interesting until it started getting Personal, IMO.

When I bought my first Vette, a 2000 coupe, both of my ex-wives' jaws hit the ground the first time they saw it.

When I bought my current, and second, Vette, my bright Victory Red 2008 vert, the first time either saw it, their jaw hit the ground, bounced back up and smacked them in the forehead, then hit the ground again. If looks could kill, I'd have been struck by lightning and spontaneously combusted simultaneously. Sometimes life can be really awesome.

I have wanted a vette all my life. This was no secret to my wife. One day after work she asked me if I still wanted a vette. I gave her the "you're kiddin' right?" Next thing you know she found me a z06! I just love her

We were actually in the Chevy dealer looking at Camaros. Saleman (have bought several cars from him) saw me looking the the Vettes on the floor and said "we just had a trade in you might like. 2008 Corvette!" I looked at her and she gave me the When we looked at it a 8 yr old car and only 1500 miles! We bought it!! 1 1/2 yrs later traded it on a 2012 GS!

When I bought my first C6, I sold a CTSV to get it, and my wife really didn't care.

When I sold it recently and decided to buy a JSB ZR1 and showed her online pics, her exact words were..."this is probably an ignorant statement, but it looks a lot like the one you already have in the garage."

In her defense, I've had my '02 Z06 for 15 years and it is Electron Blue. So yeah... there's a little similarity. They are both blue.

I was looking at a Corvette for a possible purchase. I mentioned it to my wife and I did not really get any comment, one way or another. After a short time she said "just go get one" I asked if she would drive it and the answer was "no, but I'll ride in it". It's been a great car and has had lots of compliments. Still today, the '07, after all these years is spotless. The guy across the street says it shines like a jewel. But here is the punch line...we drove past a Ferrari dealer the other day and my wife said "have you ever thought about getting one of those"? Holy cow are you kidding??. To be honest, the answer is...not really. I like the Vette and the best part of that is I can work on the Corvette myself.

Well, she was driving a newer Seville and I said I wanted to trade it for a C5 Corvette and she was very much in favor, so then she was driving an '01 C5 coupe...

...and then I said I thought she should have a new C6 and we ordered her '08 coupe which she enjoyed very much...

...and that was a great car but I said she should have a limited edition car so we traded the '08 for her '13 427 convertible...Name: IMG_0514 smaller.jpg

She's a very happy camper!!

Her car shares the garage with my '66.

We had our 69 roadster for many years and when I retired in 2013 we bought our 99 convertible. So, the 13 GS was easy peasy. I found it online at a dealer 6 hours away, showed it to the wife. She said "I likey" and that was it. Traded the 99 that we had owned for 11 months and pulled the trigger. Six months later we sold the 69 because we were not driving it and I built it to drive. So, we moved it on to someone looking for their first Corvette.

My wife knew I had been looking at Corvettes for well over a year. We had many conversations about budgetary constraints, having three vehicles so I could park the Corvette for the winter (Grrr). I was torn between a cheaper z51 or a Grand Sport. In the end, I spent a little more than what I planned, but looking at other base models, I'm sure glad I stuck to the GS! Wife likes the car a lot even though it's quite loud (Street cam, header back exhaust).

She drives a 2006 Forester XT with bolt ons, so she gets the car thing!

I'm 23, she's 24. My winter car is a 1998 Dodge Dakota with 118k. It sure makes me miss my Vette.

My wife thinks that sports cars are a waste of money. She would be happiest driving a transportation appliance for the rest of her life. Just a cheap way to get from point A to point B.
