I sure enjoyed the 7 I had. And got more compliments on the cars from unusual sources, especially the last one, a torch red coupe.

I take it you've never been in a car with a cage?

Yeah, it reminds me of a fighter jet cockpit -- and that's a GOOD thing!

Race cars are much different. Louder, less comfortable, faster and handle much better. No power accessories for anything or an interior. You will get sore from the G's going through the corners. I love my Vette and think it's an awsome car, but it will never be like a race car unless I strip it down to almost nothing and do all the necessary modifications to make it like a race car.

I just added the Vitesse Throttle controller and it changed the dynamic of the throttle response. So much quicker response from the gas pedal and any previous lag is gone. I just set it at 6 for now. It must be super sensitive at setting 9.

I leave mine on 9, now it feels like the regular response. Guess I'll have to put another one on and set it at 18.

So completely strip it down one seat nothing else, pump up the tire pressure, turn off the nannies and instant race car in my book. I agree with the OP, but I like a few creature comforts. AC is a must have down here.

If you'd have ever driven a race car you wouldn't say that your Corvette is like one because it's nowhere close. Race Cars have distemper and are much harder to drive. Louder, vibration just nothing like a street car.

I take it you've never been in a fighter cockpit either. Believe me, it's very very different.

OP stated "feels" like versus "is" like...and if that's what it "feels" like to him...then it is what it is...

(but I'd also like to know what he's comparing it too!)

My C6 feels like a GT muscle car. Gobs of low-end torque, comfortable ride, good road manners. Nothing like a race car.
My Porsche is high-revving, twitchy steering, kidney-punch ride, tracks like a go-kart. But even it feels nothing like a race car.
Nothing does unless it's purpose built or radically modded.

I agree that the vette feels so much stronger than the mustangs, camaros, and mopars out there. Race car no. Sports car yes. Some may be faster, but are still just family cars with big motors. No comparison.

I've been waiting 40 yrs to finally get back into a Vette! Had a customized 1969 T-Top back in the mid seventies. I am so thrilled with my 2012 GS CE 6M and understand where you're coming from, it's awesome to drive!

Still, I got a few mods I'm craving to do!
