Default My driveway and a C6?

I've got a bug to buy a c6 which would by my first vette but I don't think it would make it up my driveway. What do you guys think?

Pictures can be misleading, but at first glance that doesn't look like a problem. Worst case, come in at a 45 and crank the wheel right at the transition.

What's it like at the top of the driveway?

Back it up? Should be no problem...best bet, get a friend with a C6 and ask a favor...

Thanks for the reply. I knew I'd be asked about the top but thought of that after dark. The top is not going to be a problem on high centering, I'd bet my life on it. but I'll get a picture of it tomorrow.

I don't know anyone with a vette or similar to ask them. I may demand a test ride to my house!

A C6 will drive fine over that no problem. Tons of driveway transition options from DIY to rubber ones you can purchase.

Mine is steeper, and I come in at almost a 90 degree, and cut it hard. Do the same backing it out. Air dam scrapes a tiny bit on the way out, but doesn't cause any issues. When I was looking to buy, I took a prospective car to my house on the test drive, and tested it out.

What Roblo said. I had an acquaintence bring his over. A lowered or Z06 is a different story, so keep that in mind.

Doesnt look like it would be a problem, the Steepness looks ok and where your driveway meets the road seems to be very thin.

Backing it in might work, but coming out of the driveway forward would definitely scrape. The noise is just annoying ... don't think you'd hit anything other than the plastic air dam.

45 degree angle solves all that.

Pretty much.

Back or face in, the key is (the front) going over the transition at an angle. Too much is bad, and too little is usually worse.

Much depends on traffic on the street, and which is easier to navigate. If there is a hill, always approach from downhill to enter, and leave toward the downhill. Which means if you pulled nose in,pull in from below, then back toward down, and pull up the hill. If you back in, come from above, and back in from below, and pull out facing downhill.

I have a steep driveway. Mine scrapes. I suspect your driveway will also scrape. But good news is its an easy amd inexpensive replacement part. FWIW, of the 3 C6s I've had here, my base z51 car scraped the worst, the two GS don't scrap as bad. No angle can fix it.

I have a friend with a C5z who doesn't scrape, ever, period. I have no idea how they don't scrape, they may not have the scraper piece under them?

I have absolutely no idea what you said...

To the OP...in a base vette I would think the air dam (under the car) will scrape which is not a problem. On a vette with a front splitter (GS, Z06, or ZR1) I would think that will scrape...which is a problem. Entering and leaving the driveway at an angle will help alleviate scraping.
Just my $0.02.

Not an issue. Your only issue would be if you hit it with any kind of speed.

I have a GS and can get up my sons driveway that is a lot steeper. I go slow and turn 45° and don't scrape at all. Good luck.
