Any excuse for a road trip! Who else is driving their C6 to view the total eclipse?

I am driving my Vette to work and viewing it there. Does that count?
I'm lucky to live in a perfect viewing area and apparently everyone in region is coming here. I've seen a bunch of Vettes with out of state plates this week and they all did wave. Even the C7s.
I'd tell you guys where this is, but we're full up on tourists. Sorry.

We have friends from Texas making the trip up here to see the event. Weather forecast isn't looking perfect around here for Monday, but there's a good possibility it will be good. If not.... there's gonna be a bunch of sorely disappointed travelers.
Got my eclipse glasses yesterday, so I'm good to go regardless of what happens.
Just a reminder too - There's North American eclipses in 2023 and 2024 with totality hitting most of the southern states for those of you willing to wait...or for those that even really care.

PS> The headliners are bomb. I'm not even considering a color matched top at this point. Too many other things to think about first!

We have the perfect viewing area right in the front yard. Plenty of shade when we need it and lots of exposure to the sky. The kitchen is now well stocked with food and adult beverages.

Thought about going up to near Nashville but decided to just stay home because of the traffic. It's going to be almost 98% here anyway.

The way I hear it. Partial compared to Total is like being 98% close to winning the lottery.

I'll be busy with work. Maybe I'll sneak outside.

Well, if I were planning ahead to travel for the eclipse, I don't think the coast of Oregon would be high on my list of viewing areas. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the Oregon coast, but the chances of a clear sky are much greater to the east. Starting to get thick with people here in Idaho. Not sure if there will be the high numbers they tried to prepare for.

+1
Hot August inland weather typically makes coastal Oregon fog.
Here in Wyoming we're keeping out fingers crossed that the clear skies will hold.

We are watching from our yard..98.2% here in Mtn Home Idaho. We are taking 22 Vettes to Coeur d'Alene on Wednesday from Boise. Gonna take some pics is my plan. Here is todays practice pics at 1128 am 24 hours before the big moment. A few sunspots making their presence known as well.

We're on our way out the door to drive down to Chester IL where the totality will be about 2:40 this afternoon starting at 1:18pm. Just my girlfriend, two lawn chairs, and our eclipse glasses. Life is good.

That's the planet Mercury below and to the left of the sun.
