Default Buying a 2005 tomorrow....

Hey all,
Making a road trip tomorrow morning to buy my first Vette newer than a C3. It's a 5.5 hour drive, sign this and that, and then back home. This is my third Vette. First was a '71 and then a '73. Loved both of them. Was actually going for a C4 this time around, when I notice some early C6's going for 17-22k. So, end result is a LeMans Blue coupe. Pretty sure I'm going to have a hard time getting to sleep...but will be on the road for 11 hours, so hopefully can get a few hours in. Will be sure to post pics tomorrow (depending on how the day goes), or Thursday. That giddy feeling just doesn't seem to go away, knowing you're picking up a Vette the next day. I know a lot of folks on here are most likely on their 5 or 6th (...or more). Then again....I could look at it like...I get to drive that new (?) 2005 Vette for a 5 hour meet and greet. I'm sure we'll get along just fine!!
Later,
Paul

I didnt sleep much the night before I picked up my 2008 LS3. Got to the dealership and it was so nice and clean I was almost scared to drive it. I only had a 2 hour trip to pick it up. But the drive home was awesome! Congratz!

I've had a similar experience, have a 78 and recently got a 13 GS vert. Anticipation killed me since it was shipped to me in Hawaii.

Congrats and lets see pics!

Yep! My sales assoc sent me some pics tonight all clean and sexy. The engine compartment is flawless. It's midnite, and we leave at 6am. Pretty sure I'm not going to get much sleep. Started cleaning the garage, and basement for something to get me tired, gonna watch a movie....yikes! Oh well...

Whoa....that must have been cool. I love the C6 & C7's much more now. Took me a while to get away from the C3's mako look. Still love them, but the 6's and 7's are my new love.
Thanks! And will post pics!

Congrats! I typically end up doing odd trips like this as well when I pick up vehicles and I get giddy like a schoolgirl with excitement. I see the 5.5 hour drive home as a great introduction.

You're going to love the C6, it will be a different world from the C3.

If you have only driven a 71 and a 73, you are in for a very pleasant surprise. They do not compare to a C6

Congratulation!!!

You will love your C6. I had 2007 and silly me sold it few years back. Nonetheless, about month ago I was able to get back in "new" to me 2013 C6.

Got in a few minutes ago. Wow...
I haven't driven a vette in 10 years, and that was my '73. My first drive with it was 3 or 4 miles around in the city, and then 275 highway miles. So responsive steering! That was so cool to feel. My Daily is an '03 Avalanche, so you can imagine my delight. Just friggin incredible! Oh, and yes, I had to feel some of that horsepower. I'm in love!
BTW...sorry about the crappy pics. My uncle parked his truck behind me (in the garage on my wife's side without good lighting), and then went to a movie with my brother, and of course, has his keys with him.
