Greg Allman Corvette question
I have been a long time member of this forum and purchased a 2011 ZR1 last year. Dealer told me it belonged to Greg Allman. I do have a copy of the original title verifying this. This is my second ZR1 and love the car. I lost the first in the flood down here in Louisiana.
I was planning on modifying the vehicle, as I purchased it to enjoy and not sit around. I have been bombarded with emails not to modify the vehicle in any way. Basically park it, because it may be worth something some day. I hate to drive a car that may have a special interest or be more desirable to a fan or collector. I have also queried Barrett Jackson and Mecum. Does anyone on here have any thoughts on the matter.

I wouldn't be able to deal with that hassle. It's your car, either drive it and do what you want or sell it and find another one. Nice grab by the way, they are amazing cars.

I don't see Gregg Allman's name adding anything to the value.

Well, he's dead now, so you can't contact him to verify it. And it could be that the guy who owned just happened to have the same name. Not to be too cynical here, but there are hundreds of pics of THE Greg Allman on the internet with Corvettes, but I couldn't find one of him with a C6 ZR1.
I'd just drive the darn thing and don't worry about it. Or donate it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or something.

So far, everyone's answers are consistent with I have heard. It will just need the right person at the right time. Other than that it makes for an interesting story.

George Costanza had John Voigt's car and he just drove it. Be like George.

His name is spelled with two g's. Curious if the paperwork shows the correct spelling of his name - even though if it does, that is not conclusive.
If it is spelled with only one "g" then maybe that person was in the Alman Brothers Band

Try to sell it saying that it was Greg Allmans car, if there's no interest then drive it.

I read where he shot himself in the foot to get out of being drafted.
There are tons of us on this forum that served and are honored to recognize those that did so.
Anyway I do like these cars and hope you enjoy your ride.
