c6 is boring...hows the c7 in comparison
#121
LOL....This one is hilarious. One thing "Vetters" will never have to do is worry about being out classed by a stinking Dodge. Any Dodge. Sure i'll give the cat it's due on straight line get-up-and-go, but thats about it. Otherwise it shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as a Corvette when it comes down to the overall driving experience.....

Did anybody notice that Jeffcardinalfan, that he was just trying to get a rise out of us. He had 4 posts total and at no time did he come back and debate why he is boring, 7 pages later we are still stewing. LOL.

That was my first thought when I originally read the thread. I thought he was just doing that or that the thread was so stupid that he didn't want to comment. But I'm not stewing just think the whole subject is

I love Corvettes, otherwise I wouldn't be on this site! The subject was "is the C-6 boring?" My comment was the Hellcat kicks serious C-6 butt! And yes, it will pull close to a G around a turn. It is not like the old Mopars that go fast and straight. And you are showing your ignorance by blasting a car you haven't driven. That's all ...

And I'm going to add that I was not "blasting" the Hellcat. It is fast no doubt. But put a supercharger on a C6 and try that. (I know you have owned 4 I'm sure). I'm not on the Hellcat forum posting how much a C6 Corvette kicks the Hellcat's *** like you are on this forum. Neither the Hellcat or any of the generation corvettes are "boring". That is the subject here and you should know that since you have owned 20 something vettes.

I fixed the C4, drove it....and ohhh ****; I liked it way, WAY better than my '06 C6. The C6 sat in my garage for 4 months unused, while I 'chose' the C4 to drive every time. Finally, I sold the C6. That was 8 years ago and I haven't looked back (or forward!? ) I don't miss the C6 one bit. It could certainly produce numbers...but for ME, it was a super lame car to own. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't love it and I had no relationship w/the car.

Have you tried the paddles. You probably have. I use them all the time on on ramps, passing, curved roads, ever so often just to get a little surge on the straits. As far as i'm concerned give me the same feel as a M without all the pedal and shifting, and keeps my hands on the steering wheel. Plus it's easy to drive in traffic. JMO but it doesn't much answer your question.

The C6 is not boring - but like any car, Corvettes included - you can tire of driving the same thing after awhile.
This had happened to me with my Vettes in the past - & once again just this month.
I've traded in my factory ordered C6 - after 6 years & 10,000 Mi (18,000 Km) driven.
This was inevitable since it was never thought of as my "Dream Car" - but instead as just the sports car I chose to drive at the time.
So what to pick as a new current "For Now"...?
A C7 was definitely not going to happen - so I've moved into a Mercedes SL63.
But maybe a mid engine C8 is in my future...?

I don't drive or ride the same one all the time, and each is used for a different purpose. I acquired them one or two at a time, and just kept them when I bought the next new thing. The old thing still feels new because I don't use it enough for it to get old. I bought my Hayabusa motorcycle brand new in 2003, when it was considered the fastest production bike in the world. In 2017 it still looks new and rides exactly the same as it did the day I bought it. It still puts a huge smile on my face every time I get on it and ride. It will never feel old. There are others that are almost as fast now, but none that are faster.
That's what works for me.

I discovered this NEARLY A DECADE AGO when I bought C4 to fix, sell and make a little $$$. (If you click on the link^ it's the "LT1 that didn't run")

It's a personal thing. Like I said; the C6 produced numbers...no doubt about that. But the general/daily ownership experience isn't measured in numbers...and for me, in that realm, the C6 didn't deliver at all. For me, it was totally blasé' plus laced with annoying features.
Hence, every time I walked out to the garage, I jumped in the C4. It was more fun, less annoying. They're all fantastic cars...they're just all different.

Yeah really....since when is a 3200 lb sports car that produces 436 hp , has a top speed of 190 mph, can accelerate to sixty mph in 4 seconds, can pull 1.0 lateral Corning g's considered underpowered?
If a guy wants to troll the c6 at the very least stick to mentioning the crappy interior ...that we all will admit it's not world class...or even economy class...but that's an easy area to modify and personalize....
But underpowered? ....not quite...but nice try...
I will say a decade later the world of ultra hig performance is catching up and equaling if you don't mind spending even more money.....
Which are the vehicles new today that cost around 50 grand, top out at 190 mph..(that admittedly most of us never do ) or accelerate to sixty in 4 seconds and pull 1.0 lateral cornering g's......?
The hellcat? The camazto ZL1 ? The corvette c7 z51? The Porsche Cayman s or Boxster S? The Alfa Romeo 4c?
One of my favorite parts of the c6 z51 is not only it inexpensive to maintain for over 100k miles but that when tooling around the local mountains and lakes that the targa roof comes off and we can enjoy the environment...
If after all that your bored with the c6? Well I don't know how any vehicle can actually keep your interest for too long....
If you can? So buy that vehicle....it's a good match.

I can't just sit here and see the downing of one of the coolest cars ever made. When you press the go pedal and it responds and people see it and respond to how cool it looks and runs which feeds into how you feel about your car it sounds like a bunch of BS when you diss the car I love. I got my cars back on that. Although opinions are like butt holes everyone has one. Every time I see my car I just smile a whole bunch and can't stop ogling it. It's a solid mode of transportation with high priced looks. How can that ever be boring. DAH
