Default Jump Start and Horn Blows

I have an 06 C6 with a dead battery. When I attach the jumper cables, the horn sounds. What can I do about this?

I've heard a Cadillac XLR can do this. Not sure what the cure was. First I'd try and disconnect the horns. They are located on the front passenger side of the car attached to the radiator support brackets. There should be a plug there that can be disconnected. Get your battery issues sorted out next. Plug the horns back into the harness again. The dead battery may have your cars electronics confused.

I'm pretty sure that's the security system. Have you tried cliking the button on the fob to shut it off as soon as the horn starts blaring?

+1 with unixcorn

If you had to use the metal key to get in your car, you have triggered the alarm system.

This is why I still love this place.

I'm having this issue on my '06 right now.
