Corvette, Luxury Car? wtf
so i am googling "2008 corvette specs"
just to see what it says (diff sites list diff curb weights) and it says
"2008 Chevrolet Corvette"
-"Luxury Car"
lol wtf? how in any way is this a "luxury car." Sure it's got some nice features, and I actually like the interior/instrument clusters/HUD
but its way more of a sports car to me, moreso designed for speed/mobility..
anyone else think this?

I think of them as a "luxury sports cars." Compared to old Vettes or muscle cars, they certainly are.
Power steering? Power brakes? Electric windows? Climate control? WTF is this, a Cadillac?

There's not enough leather to be a luxury car . ... Have you ever been in a real luxury sports car like a Ferrari or Lambo... The Corvettes not even in the same league when your talking refined interior..WW ..

My idea of luxury in this body style of car is an Aston Martin or a Maserati or a precious few others.
It's a relative term, of course...depends on which rung of the ladder you happen to be standing. In the bigger picture Corvette, at best, is a proletariat's sports car. Certainly at these volumes, most can afford one and describing it as a luxury sports car probably fits the definition of oxymoron.

I never had "climate control" in my life before buying the C6, and I wasn't really 100% sure what it was. Then to find driver and passenger temp controls. Haha, in a two-seat cabin? A bit pointless?
And then there are countless other "First World" luxuries. Americans are totally spoiled.

Yes it is luxury because it pleases the senses in styling, sound and exotic materials
Of course it's luxury, a 2 seater is unpractical.
Otherwise, I'd save $ and buy a Camaro or Mazda mx-5.
My new 2017 Corvette MSRP is $60k, that's way more than the average $32k car price.

And it will be an official "sanctuary state" when your wonderful gubner signs the bill. And it will be official (as I understand it) that when they let violent illegal immigrants out of jail they will NOT tell ICE about them.
Heh, NYS is not far behind.

Luxury is a relative term. Price/cost/rarity/quality in materials/workmanship start to bring luxury into focus. Relatively speaking, if $60K is a "serious reach" for you then it is easy to understand that if you've sacrificed that much to attain one, it would certainly be a luxury to you.
As a generalization, when you look at the "sea" of cars available in the $60K range, doesn't look like the Corvette stands out much as a luxury sports car. Just about every car manufacturer has a model in the $60K range including Hyundai and Kia. If you've stretched to buy a $60K Hyundai, you're welcome to call it a luxury. Hardly anyone else will agree with you.
Then there's perception. According to this poll, over 80% don't perceive the Corvette as
a luxury sports car. When compared to the World's luxury sports car list, Corvette is at the absolute bottom.
