Put it this way...there is nothing significantly different in the parts bin items between '08 and '13, so what would make the '13 a poor choice? The answer is the dust up over the 427 CE models, which is a small, but highly reported, slice of the total '13 production.

I have owned a 13 GS since new and it now has 36,000 miles on it. I had to have the Climate Control Module replaced at 34,000. No other problems. I can't keep my a** out of the seat!!!

Most people posting here seem satisfied with their Corvettes' reliability.
I am not.
We've owned three new Corvettes- 2001, 2006, now 2009. They have been the three most unreliable cars we've ever owned, and each new one has been worse than the previous. We've always bought the GM extended warranty, and it has always paid us back more than its purchase price. We use the cars for long road trips, and each one has caused us to be stuck somewhere for a couple of days for repairs. We're not blowing transmissions or burning pistons, just an endless endless endless string of problems caused by dogshit quality. Each of our Corvettes has had more problems in its first year than any of our Toyotas had in their first 50k miles and again, these are not related to the high performance nature of the Corvette.
For details, look under my name for "One Year Report Card", "Two Year Report Card", etc.
We are on vacation right now and just finished two days in a rental car because the 'vette had been throwing a "Service Active Handling" message every ~300 miles.
We love the car fort many reasons, but reliability is not one of them.

I have 2013 427 vert and honestly it is the BEST corvette I have owned (6th one). The power is awesome! the problems are ZERO. It really is the best C6 produced. I get CR and I read several postings, it appears to me that the 2015 corvette is the one to avoid. I heard from the dealer they had all kinds of problems with them.

'13 4LT GS with auto and 9500 miles. We have had the car for just over three years. No problems other than replacing a rear tire due to road hazard. It runs and drives great.

It is my understanding that this suit is about the LS7 motor not the 427 Collectors Edition car specifically. I understand that it's included as the motor is in this car. 30,873 Z06's & 427's built if my numbers are right. 19 people on the suit. I'm sure there are more people than these 19 with complaints and I feel for original owners that have suffered. Too many variables on both sides of this case for me to understand. Even if the complaints were for 500 cars that would still only be about 1.6 percent of all built.
Original owner of 2006 C6Z and thoroughly enjoy the normally aspirated LS7. Taking my chances with two of them. It's even better with the top down in the 2013 427 Collectors Edition.

Well, so far as CR is concerned ... you need to remember they rated the 1983 Corvette as a "to avoid" car also ... the problem, of course, was that there were no 1983 Corvettes (at least released outside GM), so where they get their data is a bit of a mystery ...

We were looking into purchasing a local low mileage 2013 GS to replace one of our 2006 Corvettes, until we read the Consumers Reports Used Car Buying Guide which states the 2013 Corvette is one of their "Used Cars to Avoid" and includes it in their "Used Car Prediction Rating" of "Much Worse than Average" has given us second thoughts. Please chime in with your personal experience. Thanks in advance.
PS: We are Corvette people having owned 20 over the last 40 years.

I bought my 427 new and it hasn't exactly been an example of reliability:
Steering gear replaced at 3000 miles
Plug wires falling off coils at 4000 miles
Engine replaced at 5000 miles
Plug wires replaced at 9000 miles
Passenger side front wheel sensor replaced at 12,000 miles
Liner for convertible top replaced at 17,000 miles
Steering gear replaced again at 20,000 miles
I think there may have been a few other minor events I forgot.
After every service visit, I swore I would get rid of it, but then when I drive it home, it just puts the biggest grin on my face. I do have an extended 100K mile warranty on it and a basic maintenance plan for the same duration, so I am not worried about further repair costs, but the inconveniences and concerns about getting stranded with it some day does have me keeping my eyes open for a replacement.

'13 GS here bought brand new and now going on 22k miles and 4 years old. Never a problem other than it CAME from the factory with a bad steering rack from the first day when I picked it up. Had it replaced under warranty immediately and so far that has been it. I will never get rid of this car, absolutely as tight now as the day it was new with no squeaks or rattles.

Consumer reports may be the place to find good information on a toaster but a Corvette? I think not.
I have a 2013 GS with 67,000 miles and not one problem. And I mean not ONE problem.
OK, OK, I confess my sin. Maybe the paint wearing off one of the A/C buttons might be considered a problem.

Love my 2013 427. That said...
With less than 4k miles so far, I've had:
1) 5th gear replaced
2) Rear view mirror replaced (5 times...seriously)
3) Tonneau cover bump/rub
4) Dash warp/leather issues
5) Clutch cylinder failure
6) Front grille replaced
7) Windshield defrost grate replaced (new one still rattles)
8) Excessive LS7 rocker noise/clicking
I've had more issues with it in the first year than the 7 years of my previous 2002 and 2010 combined.
Reliability on the 427 has had me so concerned that I purchased a GMEPP warranty in hopes of getting all the kinks out before I'm left to foot the bill.
I still love the car and plan on keeping it...but trouble-free it has NOT been for me.

I have my 2013 Grand Sport since October 2012, that's 4 years and 4 months. I have 22,000 plus miles on the clock with no issues.
