I found the "special warranty" coverage on mychevrolet.com and yes you are correct, I am included. So someday I will expect that letter from GM but if it doesn't show up if I have to take it in, the dealer should be able to find that also.

Just got the letter for my 07. My car was manufactured in 9/2006 so why bother wasting paper. I hope that I will never need to replace it as it's a costly job. Great design GM. You should have changed the design a few years back when people first reported this to you. The same with the harmonic balancer.

Got mine yesterday, big deal it is an 07, lucky for GM, too bad for me. Should be a recall on all of them. Fix it correctly, is this not a safety issue? Do several of them have to catch fire and people die before it is a recall?

Got mine yesterday as yesterday as well. Is this a constant smell or only something that you would smell every once in awhile when the tank is over 1/2 filled?

It's not from the date it was manufactured, its from the date put in service.
I do agree its a waste of paper to send out to owner where the fix will expire or has already.

Got it today. 07' vert. Not the original owner. Have until Jan 2018 to get the fix. No problem as of yet. 19k miles. When the weather breaks I'll take it in for an inspection. Can't hurt I guess.

I got the letter last week while I was out of town. Just checked the Chevrolet Owner Center to see if it had a specific date. I'm the second owner of my '07 coupe so wasn't sure of the in-service date. Looks like I have one day left on the special warranty!
